New York Senate Passes Bill to Outlaw Machetes

It is ironic how the most desperate methods of "control" usually incite the exact opposite, a direct result of those most desperate to control demonstrating they are the least qualified or capable to do so. I hear one always wants what he/she can't have... which makes sense since one can't buy morals, talent, happiness or respect.

Anyone else picturing a Busse claw hammer made from satin Infi or SR101? Canvas micarta? Anyone?

No, even with INFI's maximum thickness at .41" thick hammer would not be very useful... hard to hit your target with the head and you would only get half a claw. --> \ rather than \/ ;)

Now two of them, a right & a left, sammiched together with about six smooth or removable bolts... ya got your sheeple friendly claw hammer that splits into dual INFI war hammers. Fergit the pitchforks, ya one Hog wrecking machine!:D Could even chisel grind a bit of the haft for Lycosa. :)

Here's something to read on this "ban"....

http://www.villagevoice.com/news/bi...ork-wont-actually-ban-machetes-at-all-6704435

Thought it was crazy....

The Village Voice article is correct about the scope of the bill, but I think the paranoid right-wing media can be forgiven for their misinterpretation of the effect of this bill given the fact that the bill summary on the New York State Sentate's webpage says: "Includes the possession of a machete within the class A misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree."

The bill would add machetes to the statutory list of "deadly weapons," but being on that list isn't the equivalent to being banned. The statute on criminal possession of a weapon lists specific weapons that can't be possessed, and this bill wouldn't change that list. There's also a general prohibition on possession of any "dangerous or deadly weapon," but that applies only to non-citizens, and the machete bill would amend that to prohibit possession by non-citizens of a "dangerous or deadly weapon, other than a machete."

Nobody NEEDS a machete. Also, nobody NEEDS a Tinfoil hat wearing fool telling people what they need, and HERE I AM......

I Thought I needed a machete , but maybe I just need to lay down and let the government tell me what to do. (Bend over Boy and grab your ankles)...

Hmm! Maybe ms13 is getting out of control in NY. That is their weapon of choice I here. I don't believe a new law will hinder their carrying their cc weapon of choice though.
