Screen shot from my phone, pics stolen from instagram (follow @prometheus_9, he's one of our own). This looks insane!

Wow! I'm not a big fan of titanium or framelocks, so I won't be dropping the cash for this, but that's a gorgeous knife!

Both this and the ZT 0999 look very futuristic! Have to see more pics before I can decide if I really like them!

Edit. That 999 is huge. It would be nicer with plain black blade. It's almost to much...IMO

I have always admired ZT for their generally clean and well-balanced designs. Hopefully this and the 0999 are just passing fancies and not indicative of the aesthetic style they're planning to adopt for more knives in the future. I personally find these two to be, visually, in exceptionally poor taste. The 0777 and 0888 are still miles ahead of this new 0999.

Also, what on earth is a "factory custom"?

I'm curious about that. The 0888 was extremely simple in style. That solid titanium gray, with no angles or colors that really jumped out at all. While the 0777 had a ton of contrast to it, from the dark Carbon Fiber handle with the TI lock bar that visually popped out and the Damascus portion of the blade that also added a degree on visual contrast. Those two were very different from each other. I would think, that visually, one would find the 0999 to be pretty similar to the 0777 and a polar opposite to the 0888.

Also, looking at the RJ compared to it on the tablet thing behind it, is it a solid black blade?

ZT's explanation:

ABOUT OUR NEW FACTORY CUSTOM SERIES

Factory Custom is a new concept in knifemaking. We're bringing together handmade custom knife parts with ZT precision-manufactured parts to create a new class of ultra-premium knives that we’re calling Factory Custom. While we’ve often worked with custom knifemakers to create some of our exceptional products, we’ve never had this kind of partnership before. Now, working together, we can create knives with true custom details, while producing quantities that would be impossible for a custom knifemaker. Our new Factory Custom series brings you knives that offer the very best of both worlds. Factory Custom knives will also enable after-market customization so users can make them one-of-a-kind items. In the future, you can expect to see Factory Custom partnerships that will bring you some genuinely remarkable knives.

That 0999 has an MSRP of $750.

Somewhat makes sense, now that ZT is doing the selling of knives themselves. With the previous ones, they said the MSRP was $600 or $500, but dealers would be charging over $1,000 (the 0777 is still like $1,300). So despite the "MSRP" being higher than previous knives, if you sign on and order at the right time, you'll still get it at a lower price.

It looks like it has RJ's "pivotless-pivot". In other words, there is no pivot screw in the center, just a hole going through to the other side. I wonder what the inlay is made of?

Idk, it kind of reminds me of the Reate Valkyrie... Not for me, but I can see the appeal.

of the new releases this is my favorite. All ready started the black market search for those in need of organs.

My question is how did ZT decide on the spectrum of colors for the 0606CF? We've got blue, gold, and black all on one blade. Plus some carbon fiber. The design is fantastic (what a surprise, it's RJ Martin) but I wish it were a bit cleaner. Also would love to know how the Reate Valkyrie and this knife ended up being so similar, I assume it's just a bizzare coincidence.

That's the first thing that came to my mind too.

I don't like it, looks kind of jarbenza-ish to me, but with obviously better finishing. Might be good as a graduation present for a college kid whose Alma mater had blue and gold colors. So far out of their recent offerings the sinkovich designs are the only ones that look appealing to me. It's really too bad they haven't made a lower cost and slightly smaller version of the 0600.

I'm a big fan of RJ martins, having 2 Q36s, including a brand new mop Grail. I'm also a huge ZT fan, but to be honest I don't like the models at blade. This doesn't look like an RJ, what I love most is the clean lines and elegance, this is bust and too futuristic.

My new Q36 :) for comparison
