New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

I feel lucky as I did not know I was waiting for a year. I just saw the 550 and bought one then look hear and see the even more stunning 560 is coming out of production and will ship just after New Year.

My EDC work knife is a ZT 300 and the quality of the knife blows me away. The lockup is as good as my Strider SMG and takes the abuse I give it. The 550 appeals as a lighter replacement and I'm hoping for equal build quality. The 560 looks promising as a tac folder.

Alphahunter, have you ever handled (owned) a ZT 0300 series SAO folder? If you have, who would you rate this new offering against it for hard use work. In fact, does anyone know if this ZT (ZT 056/0561) really fits into the hard use category "big rugged folder that can take some abuse??"

I've owned a ZT 0301 and it's definitely a beast. I'd like to know how this one will compare for prying, light chopping etc. (emergency shelter building - that sort of thing).
 
This is bad, I'm already thinking of having it ground into a clip point like a custom hinderer I saw in his gallery. Then OD green G10. This knife will get expensive.

I'd open this to the role of the 550 vs 560. My naive reading is that the 560 is a tacticle knife while the 550 is a camp knife. I cannot wait for my 550 to arrive.

You nailed it with the 300. I've worked it hard on the farm and it reminds me a little of my AK! I'm just glad to see the ZT brand expand to more offerings. They fill a niche I don't see other brands covering as well.
 
I've been looking for an excuse to pick up a ZT knife, and always had an eye for the hinderer knives. This gives me the perfect excuse to pick one up! The youtube videos certainly have me hyped.

Though, it seems you guys have been waiting quite awhile for this one.

I just heard about it, and put my preorder with knifecenter. And i'm already antsy, January can't come soon enough! I'm really digging the brown of the 0561.
 
What's the street price going to be? Around $255-$260? :eek: Worth every penny though. :) I preordered 6-6. :cool:
