New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

From the old Red Book Hymnal "New Kershaw" edition
"We shall see the "Z".... we shall see the "Z".... We shall see the 560/561 "Z" when it comes.. comes..comes..."
"It is coming back with power! We will hail the blessed hour! We shall see the "Z" when it comes...."
This was sung with a strong southern draw...
Thank ya.... Thank ya, very much!

People starting to score in the States now. C'mon K.G. where's our knives brother?

It is an odd clip for that size knife Rob. Oh well, we take what we get and maybe tweak it.

As soon as I hear that I have some on the way I will be happy to sell them.

yeah i ordered mine from canada and i feel no remorse towards the buy........when you can afford it why wait. i'm still on the pre-order for both....

The way it was explained to me at the SHOT Show, a decision had to be made re: whether to concentrate on opening the knife easily using the flipper versus using the thumbstuds. I didn't dig into it with the ZT rep at the time, but apparently ZT couldn't do both. The 0560/0561 is really designed to be used as a flipper, of course. So that was the primary consideration in engineering the opening mechanism. Without a doubt, it was far easier for me to open the 0560/0561 examples at the SHOT Show using their flippers instead of their thumbstuds.

It's not that we couldn't do anything - it's really quite simple. We can control how strong the detent is by adjusting a few relationships between parts. A stronger detent allows the user to build up more pressure before the blade opens. When you overcome the detent, the blade snaps open quickly. The flip side is that it becomes more difficult to open the knife with the thumbstuds. When we came out wit hteh original 550/551, people asked for a flipper. When we built the flipper, we decided that we really wanted it to flip well - hence our decision to make the detent strong.

K.G. you have a willing buyer! Waiting patiently i think, even though i check this post every day for the past 2 months.
