New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

^ I am also hoping that the blade detent will be quite strong to prevent it from being wrist flickable because of some legality issues in canada...

Any decent flipper would need the detent to hold it closed so that the "flip" action would be more pronounced.

Videos I've seen of that bearing in action worry me a little. I only hope this flipper and the tilt have a sufficient indent so as to not be able to be considered a gravity knife. (gravity knives are illegal concealed carry here in CA :( )
I really wouldn't worry about it. The detent has nothing to do with the bearing and the bearing has nothing to do with the tendency toward closure. They operate completely independently. Increasing the friction at the bearing will not make a CA banned knife more legal!

Isn't a knife over 3" also illegal in CA?

nope, ca has no length limit on folders.

Surprising huh?

The only knives you have to worry about in ca are autos and double sided blades

open carry fixed blades are legal too

Exactly. Although there are limitations on all concealed fixed blade lengths. And the reality is if you are walking down the street with a Katana in plain view, you WILL get stopped.

LOS ANGELES has a 3" limit though.

and IIRC, there is no mention of double sided blades in the CA law. They don't identify "dagger" as a double sided blade.

disclaimer- I am not an attorney. Do not take this for legal advice.

That's it, I'm moving this thread over to Knife Laws.

Is that legal?

j/k.

I apologize. I think it was me that may have started the legal discussion with my voiced concern over possible gravity blade. I'm sure ya'll will bring to market a fine blade with this one.

I am usually quite patient about things, but I can't get this flipper out of my head!

and for the record, I like the brown scales. It matches my freckles.

Consider this thread officially un-jacked. Now back to enthusiastic comments form Alpha and Gnarly...

ON STANDBY: Awaiting Official Pictures From BLADE Show.

And....nervous as a long-tailed cat,in a room full of rocking chairs!
