This knife is going to be a huge (I'm hoping 3.75 or 4") hit. Like the 300 series, there isn't anything in its price range thatcan compete, possibly Excluding sprint runs.

I think the KVT bearings really push this over the edge in terms of awesomeness. I'm surprised I haven't seen any head to heads with xm's yet, because by the looks of it they are real close to each other.

Except for the Spanto, that's probably accurate.

About identical to the Spanto except of one plane (grind) at the tip. Scroll up & look, sound right?

Plus, no large finger choil on the blade.

well they both use great steels, they both have titanium locking side with lock bar stabilizer, the both have G10 fronts and I'm guessing the ZT will be getting interchangeable G10 slabs like the XM, and they both have multiple clip points. the only real differences I'm seeing are price, actual blade grind, choil, and the ZT uses KVT bearings. I wonder if this knife will have any effect on the XM market? personally I think it would be alright if it did because I just can't justify the price of an XM.

I suspect the first impact it will have is to cause the build of the XM to include the KVT washer. But I am only guessing. Although I must say that the 24 is a beast of a blade but the action is like a Swiss watch as is.

Proto's will be finished up late in the week. I'll get some hot shots and post them ASAP!

tower2,

Have I ever told you how much I love Bright Screaming Blaze Orange?
Hmm... Let me get back to you on that one.

That is Sexy,Tower!
Thank you, Alpha. Given your gear and taste, I appreciate the compliment.

Thomas, let me make this easy on you. Just send me a couple of these babies (strictly for photography) and I'll drop the cellphone cam and actually break out the Hi-Res Camera. For you, I'll even get fresh batteries in her!

Yes, the choil is much smaller. This affects not only use, but also the ways available for folding the knife closed.

Not strictly correct. The XM blade, by design, is thicker for a wider and longer portion of the blade. Probably not something that will affect you unless you need to crowbar open a door or the like, but not just an issue of cosmesis either.

Videos I've seen of that bearing in action worry me a little. I only hope this flipper and the tilt have a sufficient indent so as to not be able to be considered a gravity knife. (gravity knives are illegal concealed carry here in CA :( )
