Now... to all the regulars... save the HTML to that specific post... so we can link it when it gets pushed 30 pages back and some new guy comes in asking "so what are the specs?"

Thanks for doing that ranger.. wish there was a way to make that a sticky lol.

EPIC post, ranger!

Hope you catch up with one man. :)

Ranger that was an awesome compilation post!

You're welcome guys.

I've been on the list since August 14th, so hopefully I'll get a low number.
But even if not, I at least know I should be "in". :D

Now I just have to hide the blades I just bought from the Mrs...

With all this activity, not sure what will be the better buy:

The ZT 0551 or all the knives that will be sold in the Trading Forums to pay for them.

HI Ranger -

I was put on kershawguy's list on July 23, and at that time I was order #20.

I was put on the list Aug 7th and I am number 27, so I would say you're probably between #30-35?

Pretty low I'd say :)

Hey guys just so you know, whatever the number you are on my list does not have anything to do with the serial number you get, I will not have time to play the serial number game, it will be whatever I send. I want these to get to as quickly as possible. Please check my OP in the preorder thread, in the dealer exchange for updated info.

Thanks
Dave

I figured that's how you'd do it... It would take forever if you actually tried to sort them and mail them like that... I'd rather have a random number next week than something else later.. but IF someone happens to end up with #9, i'll trade ya!

I have an email from KG saying I'm #2 - gosh I hated saying that. :o He's saying I lost my spot though over a misunderstanding and am much higher now. I think I'm deserving of #2 - at least some people would agree with that. :D

In my defense Chuck , there was no misunderstanding, you asked me to remove you from the list , then on Sept. 14, you emailed me and asked to be put back on, you still made the cut.

Dave

Cheryl is my hero and deserves a significant increase in salary!
thanks Thomas -

I am excited to see the knife, and I have a low number on Dave's list.

I have been doing some of my Christmas shopping, and I have purchased 5 Kershaw knives in the last week!

I just had a great (first) experience with Kershaw's customer service, when I needed a tube-spacer for my 3600 Volt - which I admittedly lost myself of my own fault.

Cheryl, from Kershaw customer service, treated me like a VIP and sent me a set of screws and tube spacers and would not accept any compensation for it!

Thanks to all of you at Kershaw, a great company with excellent products.

best regards -

Ha, did you mean Deserves ? I have met Cheryl she is a recent addition to the Kershaw team and like all the rest of the folks at Kershaw, she is very nice and represents the company well.

Just a "number 2" - bathroom humor joke Dave. I know you assured me I made the cut. No misunderstanding, the details weren't relevant to the joke. Sorry man. :)

Just to make sure that I am not missing anything, nothing is required if you are on the original list, other than waiting to get an email saying "it is ready go pay for it," right? I know there was an issue with a lost list for the 0550 and people had to forward their confirmation emails, but that didn't affec the 0551 list.

Correct, the 0551 list is intact according to Kershawguy's prior response.

Thanks for the updates Dave!

I appreciate the fact that you must be inundated with emails yet are still able to shoot a price on a different blade in less than a hour. Your customer service is literally second to none.

That's what KG said a few pages back. The 0551 list is intact. This long wait for such a great knife is kinda wearing some people down. Folks getting real testy and such, Dave's PC said "the hell with this" and crapped out, folks keep asking the same questions and don't realize there's a search function for the thread and stuff. They're coming - Thomas said so!! :D

Here are the details... (Please correct me if I miss something.:foot:)

ZT 0550 specs have not been released other than to say the blade steel is scheduled to be Vanax and the blade finish will be different than the ZT 0551 (not stonewashed). There may be a difference in the G-10 pattern and backspacer, but nothing (to my knowledge) is set in stone at this point. Expected completion of the 0550 is sometime after the first of the year 2011.

Expected delivery date of the 0551 sprint run is within a week or two.

0551 Sprint Run specs:

  • 3 1/2 inch blade
  • .156 thick blade (Same as ZT 0300)
  • Elmax blade steel
  • Plain edge only
  • Grind - See pictures below of the production 0551 Sprint Run
  • Stonewashed blade
  • Titanium frame lock with bead blast finish
  • Black G-10 scale with "brick" pattern over a skeletonized 410 stainless steel liner
  • Phosphor bronze bushings
  • Anodized aluminum tube spacers
  • 5.8 oz with no clip
  • Clip will be the same as the ZT 03XX series
  • No choil
  • No glass breaker (According to RH, none of the 0550/0551 will have anything sticking out the back.)
  • Flow through design (no back spacer)
  • MSRP $250

Ranger is to be commended on the exemplary job he did on compiling all of the pertinent info but for the love of God...

For future reference, HERE is the link if anyone needs it.
Simply copy/paste the URL.
Saves TONS of scrolling and bandwidth!

Perhaps we need it to be quoted every few pages... just to keep the newcomers from asking redundant questions...

That's why I gave the LINK!

There are still people on dial up, satellite, .etc. that have compromised bandwidth and lengthy IMAGE posts take forever to load.
