Welcome to the Forums Paul, having you here is an excellent addition to the shop talk area. As I do all of my own heat treating and Cryo I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain sometime.
Has Tom ever mistakenly sent you Talonite to heat treat??

Hiya Paul!! GREAT to see you here POSTING:-)I guess now we wont have to talk on the phone about things said here HA!!! Absolutely great to have you here Paul. And dont forget we have to get together for dinner or a couple beers sometime soon..
By the way how about making up a cool stencil with something like "Bos Treated" ATS, BG, etc.?? I think of it as a selling point to have your service performed on my blades and would love to have something like the mark Buck uses on thier new folders. Any chance of something like that happening for us lowly custom makers:-)?

Doc, Your welcome yo pick whats left of my brain. Jerry whates Talonite??? Is that the stuff that makes Supperman weak or what? Tom the reason for all the test markes #1 I want to make sure your blades are right on what you want, Cause I dont want to get torne apart by you on this Fourm. #2 And I never know when you might send me more 416 knife blades,Or mix your 440-C up with your ATS\34 or your BG\42! Friends to the end, Hope this is not the end? Thanks Kit I treasure your friendship. Tom I straighten out the grindes myself, Im getting to be a pretty good Knife Maker. Jerry, Sorry Igot to tell the truth. Traxe, Are you buying dinner or do I have to?

talonite: "material used in knifemaking to avoid giving Paul Bos any money"...sorry, couldnt resist......

Trace, that stencil is a great idea!

Even if it's just something like, Bos-Tempered Steel, would be great. Those of us who know are well aware that Paul deserves a lot of the credit for the quality of our blades.

...maybe not the grinds though, Paul.

Thanks Jerry!! I think it would be VERY cool to have Paul's name riding on my knives, as I am sure MANY of us would. Paul is as much a living legend as many of the makers who have used his service for a LONG time.. I ALWAYS like to give credit where credit is due.. PLUS its a selling point for me:-) So how about it Paul? I like the Hot Rod flames on the Buck mark too by the way!! Lets do this if at all possible.. What do ya think?
