Hello everyone!

I am new to Busse Knives and have been reading like crazy over the past two days as well as all the Busse material on YouTube. I am a crazed fan and don't even have a knife yet! ;)

Ok, I have several questions and I hope that someone will have pity on me and answer them. I am in love with the FFBM but there seems to be several different kinds of BMs out there. Like, what is the real differences between a CGFBM and FFBM?

Also I have been trying to find someone who is selling a FFBM here on the forums and elsewere on the Net and can't find any! Can anyone point me to where there is one for sale??? I would be so grateful!

Last question: Does anyone think that Busse will reproduce the FFBM again?

Thanks SO MUCH for any help I might receive!

Sincerely,

John

Welcom to the addiction! As far as trying to find one, you will have to check the exchange as a daily ritual (probably like everyone else here :)) Also try posting on the Wanted section in the Exchange section that you are looking for one.

As far as the difference, the CGFBM have corrugated bevels on the blade and much lighter compared to the FFFBM. I currently have the FFFBM you can check it out in my album on my page. Take care, for you are about to sip on the Busse Kool-Aid:eek:

Edit: check out bussecollector.com; hogcult.com and there are a couple of more that I can't remember.

In trying to figure out what you want, don't forget to take into account that the FFBMs are thicker than the CGFBMs, and that may make a difference on whether you will like mag or standard handles. :)

Yes, I want the thinker FFBM. I just didn't know the differences between the CGFBM and the FFBM. Most likely, I would like the standard handles since the blade is so thick.

Thanks for the info on_the_edge! and thanks for the welcome Fiskking! I will post on the Wanted section as well! Great to be here!

FFBM was my first Busse and it'll probably be with me until I have a son to pass it on. It's a great knife and built like a tank.

My CGFBM is lighter and therefore I can use it for longer but I have to put more into each swing if I want it to chop as well as the FFBM.

I have a CGFBM, FFBM and NMFBM. I like them all and am currently beasting the NMFBM as it's the new guy on the block. If you can afford it I would buy them all, you probably will own at least one of each in your time with Busse anyway.

Welcome aboard and might I add getting a FFBM is a great way to dive in at the deep end.

Thanks RoyalM! Nice to meet you! I am hoping that I can afford many Busses at some point, but I want that FFBM! lol

I've seen some FFBM pics without any coating on the blade. Does it really matter? I mean the blade is so tough and most likely will never rust, so why go with a coating on it?

Also (crazy question) you do think that there is any other knife that is more BADASS than the FFBM? I've been searching the knife world for some time and just wasn't satisfied with what I was seeing, then I found Busse..... ;)

Well thanks for the welcome and I can't wait to finally post a pic of my first Busse FFBM someday (hopefully soon!).

You only check it daily? pffft...amatuer.

psychic, let us know where you live, there might be another Kool-Aid drinker near you, who you could meet and check out their collection. That is the best way to answer some of these questions. If you edit your User CP, you can include your location.

I live in Everett, Washington and would be willing to meetup with anyone in the Seattle area to check out their Busse knives. Very cool. Thanks for mentioning this Resinguy! Nice to meet you.

I like the FFBM better, especially because of the thicker blade. Don't care for the rounded edges. :) I guess I will just have to wait longer to get one.

Hey, i'm in Everett also, i have a CGFBM, that you can look at and see how it fits, check your email. G.M

The CGFBM handles the best of the lot, excluding the NMFBM, being that I have not handled it.

I've used the LE, FF and CG extensively, and I can get through thick logs faster, and with less stress and pain on my CG by a mile. The FF and LE both love to sink and stick fast in the log, causing most of your time to be spent prying the damned thing out due to the flat and saber grinds. The GC has a nice convex grind with the bevels to reduce sticking. The FFBM feels especially like a clumsy steel bar in your hands compared to the other two, and was easily my least favorite. The CG is among my all time favorites.

I also sanded the texture off to make it even more comfortable and reduce blistering. I love how the bevels prevent the coating from wearing off any farther than pictured. Makes it very attractive even after extended use.

Hey Grey Menace, nice to meet you. Maybe we could get together sometime over a few beers and drool over your Busse knife! ;)

There are a few blades some may consider more bad ass than the FFBM; the MOAB comes to mind, even though it's not very useful. But the FFBM is a must have in any collection.

Hey Joe, nice to meet you. Thats interesting to know. Does anyone else here agree with Joe's assessment? Does the CGFBM handle and feel better than the FFBM? Very curious.
