Newbie / CGFBM Vs. FFBM / and trying to buy FFBM???

LMAO! Folder eh? Psh! Yeah, I have had several people offer to sell me a FFBM and waiting for a couple responses before I make a decision. Wow, I am PUMPED!!!

Young piggie---Wait till you get that INFI in your hand. There's no going back.

Hey Joe, nice to meet you. Thats interesting to know. Does anyone else here agree with Joe's assessment? Does the CGFBM handle and feel better than the FFBM? Very curious.

This has been a topic of discussion, and, yes, there are folk who feel that the CG FBM is the best all-rounder of the large Busse knives. YMMV. It can also be had for a better price than the average FF FBM, if you are patient and haunt the Exchange.

Good Luck in your quest!

CGFBM gets my vote, but you won't be disappointed with an FFBM either. If you insist on an FFBM check out the Le, IMO, it is noticebly faster in hand. And Le's are going for rock bottom prices right now. Or you can have some of the fat trimmed off the FFBM.;)

GregS, you mentioned that the FFBM LE is going for rock bottom prices. Where can I find one of these? They are amazing!

All right, OINKERS. I can joke too much... but that 's all it is. I love you guys and girls!!
About my Hog Status??? Jerry says Jennifer had something to do with that. It's a RED thing. :D
Thanks Lee. ;)

Hey bro, you know I still love ya like bigfatty loves birfdaycake.:p:D

Yes, I want the thinker FFBM. I just didn't know the differences between the CGFBM and the FFBM. Most likely, I would like the standard handles since the blade is so thick.

Thanks for the info on_the_edge! and thanks for the welcome Fiskking! I will post on the Wanted section as well! Great to be here!

I just mailed one today at a give away price...check the Sale Forums.
There is a 2007 FBM from blade, it's rare and one of the best of the FBM's.
I saw were you're looking for an LE, there's one in my sale post, I'll make you a deal on it.

Good Luck

My first seven Busse Combat knives were all FFFBMs. At Knob Creek, Jeff Law pointed out that some of the more recent FBMs are CG thickness, but without the corrugated bevel technology ridges -- at first, I thought the one he was pointing out was a fat flat fusion BM, but it was only the flat fusion part.

Are they .25" thick? or .270"

Thought all the recent full flat grounds are .270"
If they are at .25"... I need to get busy!

.

Only Jerry knows how many SHBM LEs there are.
And I think Tony has 3.

The 4 satin I have are a 2007 custom shop piece, and the other 3 are all pre-release SHBMs.
Two that were in the American Survival Guide introduction article,
and one that was the first to escape the Busse compound for field testing.

My first Battle Mistress was the FFBM and not only is it an awesome chopper, it also looks cool !!!

I mean it is SABRE ground !!!!,,very cool... !!!!

And yes it is front heavy but, it brings all that mass to the battle when the action starts.

I have a modded FBMLE with a convex edge, shaped handle, and clip added.

I think there is something to be said for the CG version. It is lighter and less fatiguing. I would love to have a skinny with a convex edge. The great thing about buying a BM is you can turn around and sell it on the exchange, and get back most if not all of what you paid. Then get another more suited to your needs. The FBMLE's are going for less now than they used to. Lots of people seem to be selling some of their biggies to make room for new releases.

I can tell you that the NMFBM's are awesome looking. The full convex NMFBMLE's are beasts for chopping. That extra 1.5 inches blade length plus convex grind = monster chopper. Just keep an eye on the exchange, and post a wanted to buy and you will find what you want. You can afford to be a bit picky.
