newbie just purchased a twitch II

Not sure of Twitch but the design looks cool. However I have owned a Sog auto and it came with blade play out of the box. massive play. Returned it, haven't bought another since.

My twitch II is the plastic handled Lowes model. The blade has more play than a pimp on a Saturday night.

I never really understood the bladeplay argument with Sog knives, especially when people recommend Spyderco instead.. I own 3 cheaper Sog folders (Flash 1&2, and Salute) and they all have bladeplay. That being said I own 2 Byrd knives(Meadowlark and Cara cara) and 3 Spyderco (Stretch, Endura, Dragonfly) knives that have a pretty much identical amount of play, except maybe the Byrds which have more.

I think people 'notice' bladeplay more when holding a knife from a company they don't like. Either way a bit of bladeplay doesn't really bother me that much.

I'd tend to agree with you, except that there are knives out there that are of comparable price, or even cheaper that has no blade play whatsoever. Not to mention the better steel...Just sayin'

Agreed. All the Kershaws I've handled have had no blade play whatsoever. (That's only three, but three for three still says something.)

well thanks for your honesty right out of the gate MAT.. i was thinking alot that had replied were a bias answer excluding a few who answered.. its sorta like the archery scene my self i shoot a bowtech.. so of course ive shot a bowtech bow for years, typically im gonna talk down a competitor bow such as mathews or hoyt..because its basically not a bowtech.(but i do it to razz the competition up at the range) but with that being said im in firm belief any bow knife hand gun etc etc etc no matter if you spend 400 or 500 they are all gonna be comparable to one another in the price range u spend.

I've owned (and given away) a Twitch and a Flash. Didn't particularly enjoy them, but the deep-pocket clip on the Flash was fantastic.

Came close several times to buying a replacement just to get a small, lightweight pocket folder with that wonderful clip.
