Newbie

Welcome to the forums.

Can you tell us the kind of jobs that you want to do with the knife that you are planning to buy?
Most often, the "right knife" is the right knife for the task.

If people here on the forum know how you are planning to use the knife, they will give you even better feedback.

welcome abroad:)

S&W guns-great, knives-...not so much
if the choice is between S&W and spyderco theres no question IMO
also benchmade, kershaw, and -->...\*{BUCK}*/... <-- make fine selections

thanks for the feed back and i mean i work at lowes so just cutting bands mainly and daily house hold things

buck, definitely buck. wait did i say buck? sorry i meant buck. i mean buck! seriously...buuuuck

Don't forget the Böker Plus line.
And I don't consider Benchmade affordable.

Of course, that is a relative statement for some of us.

The Benchmade Vex is materially the same as a Tenacious, and the Kershaw Vapor II is half that and just as good.

On the other hand, if it's not a titanium framelock with S30V, it's junk.

Realistically, there's a wide range of useful edges in a vast array of styles to meet almost any taste, or none at all. Many use examples from both ends on a daily basis. We're all happy with what we have.

What we can't deal with is not having another knife. Welcome to the addiction.

I had that SW and hated it! I used it for different, every day kind of things it was just bad IMO. It didn't hold an edge well at all. I found it very difficult to sharpen. It was just all wrong. I'd go with the Byrd or better yet the Tenacious. Awesome knife. I'd really stay away from the SW.
