Newest Addition to the Family

Congrats... he is beautiful! I've never owned one, but a couple friends and family do... they're very smart & loyal but watch out when he's 90lbs and wants to sit on your lap!:D

No apologies needed. The more pics the merrier  I'm not a great photographer myself, so I didn't bother taking too many of him. I need to get some better shots of him though, he's tuckered out after his walk today, so maybe tomorrow he'll pose for me :p
Sorry yours didn't take too kindly to the pack idea. I like the concept though, something maybe the size of a small digital camera bag with just a few essentials in it-doggy FAK, cutting implement, water purification. Maybe a couple pairs of booties(we have hot and rough terrain out here) that he could carry St. Bernard style.

Very adorable pup, congrats :D, should grow up to be a handsome dependable companion.

I'm just gonna throw this out there for whatever its worth: I read somewhere or someone told me that single syllable names aren't the best choice for a dog, its hard for them to distinguish between you calling their name versus giving them a command, and Scout sounds a lot like Out  Just a thought :D

Hmm, that's an interesting point. I'd heard that one or two syllable names are easier for dogs. Then again, I'd never really considered how close Scout sounds to Out, since I've always said "Outside" with my dogs.
Something I'll think about, he still hasn't gotten used to his name though, so I could resort to the second place name I had in mind...Ranger. Since the wife isn't always as consistent with commands, and rarely adds a hand signal like I do, it's a possibility she might just say "Out". Glad you brought that to my attention.
