Under $100 , but you gotta look around... and don't blab hints or you'll PO the mods (BAD idea ) .

I believe this has a thicker blade than the other 3V , and no DLC on this one either .

Does have a deeper belly , I believe from pics , than the San Mai .

Just ordered one for myself .

I already have an old Plus (with gut hook) San Mai , (Japan IIRC) version and its a great all around, medium length camp knife .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Supposed to arrive tomorrow ! :)

Taiwan made , IIRC . We shall see . I've read it's back to being thicker ?

I'm probably OK with that . Not as slicey but tougher .

I have an older DLC Taiwan model, and it's a fantastic hip knife.

Its a bit thinner than my San Mai models as well, which I really like.

Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah , that DLC, thinner one , is what I tried to buy before . Pretty sure .

I'd just as soon have a thinner one with the 3V steel .Should be plenty tough enough .

I like the DLC coating also , when available .

Is mentioning sales from Cold Steel itself acceptable?
IDK , like jdk1 said above .

You could post the link and use the "report" in lower right corner , to report yourself and ask them to delete if not allowed .

Unless the mods are a gunnin' for ye already , should be alright . ;)

That wouldn't be worth it.

This place really changed since the time period I was very active.

I just thought of the thread we had a few months ago about a large retailer selling cheap CS knives, and I'm pretty sure they are not sponsors. 😀

I'd think yes....while gsm haven't manned the forum here for long....we had that guy for a bit then he disappeared.....

but besides that
....we can and do list deals on the Buck forum from the Buck webstore themselves and its allowed......

Received today ! ☺️

Washed off the grease and used to skin and dice up my fresh pineapple .

Not the most slicey ,best kitchen knife ever . But got the job done OK .

Left the pineapple juices on the knife for several hours , just to see if it would patina a bit .

Maybe a little darker cast to the finish , which is a matt beadblast IIRC . Always mix up with stone wash . (see pics)

3/16" spine and IDK about being deeper bellied .

I have only my old San Mai MH "Plus" to compare .

I sash carried the new one today . Pretty easy to carry this size blade .

Tomorrow I'm gonna hammer this thing thru an engine block ...or maybe just gut another pineapple . :p

Same place that used to have em for $199, and now they’re $260? 😞
yeah but still lower than what they normally want for them there.....

I guess on sale isn't exactly accurate.....

Hey guys , don't forget about new advances from GSM : 🥳

I've seen some wonderful offerings in the new miracle steel , 4034 , in all your old favorites . 🤬

Be some good prices , if the steel was great ! 😒

Maybe someday I'll see some convincing evidence ...gee if "somebody " only did some actual proof tests ...
