Newest version model of the 3V Master Hunter , Taiwan , bare steel blade, is ON SALE !

At least one he fake one has a leather sheath. With 4034 out there, maybe a better buy to get the fake? LOL
Heck the 4034 ones may come from the same place . 🤬

Kidding , I hope ! Supposed to be Taiwan , IIRC ?

Bet the fake does not have a cable tang ! Or a decent HT .

Still pretty sickening to wonder if the fake might be a better value anyway . 🤢

Back when Ron Hood's survival forum still existed one member did tests on what he called "budget bowies," IIRC that he bought from BudK.

There was a fake Laredo in his tests and it was junk, the worst of the group IIRC.

That's when you really need a POS that breaks off at the hilt at the worst possible time ! 😒
I remember the 1980s when several of my friends, a cousin, and my brother all got those "$5.00 survival knives" only to learn that they were dull, were difficult to sharpen, didn't hold their already bad edges, cut through their own sheaths after a short hike, and their hollow handles were not even waterproof. The bottle openers worked, however. 😀

It is possible for knockoffs to be better than the official versions of certain blades.

One I can think of was the case of the "Lord of the Rings" swords.

The official versions were the less expensive (but still more than some real swords) from United Cutlery and the more expensive versions (but still decorative sword-like objects) and neither were real swords, but a few people making handmade swords made functional replicas of some of the "Lord of the Rings" swords.

A few years ago in the Philippines I visited a bladesmith's shop. They made mostly bolos and kitchen knives but also did special orders where customers brought in their specs and he'd make knives for them. He had an unfinished katana and wakizashi set he was working on on the wall, and also an unfinished Royal Kukri. I asked him about it and he said it was from a drawing a customer brought in. So this customer got a hand-forged full-tang knockoff of the Royal Kukri in what was probably 5160.

You guys really are a bunch of enablers!
Based upon this thread I just ordered two Master Hunters in 3V.
I need more fixed blades like I need two wastegate passageways - which would allow me to fart in stereo!
Bunch of enablers you all are!

Hint on this one?

That middle company has 'em for $80...and I thought that was a steal.

So ~$72USD delivered (plus tax). This is a "fell off the truck " kinda price ! 😲

Dang , I sure don't need another one ...but...heck ! 🤯
Hard to pass up even if looking for early Christmas shopping for someone. 🤣

I used the coupon code but had to pay sales tax.72 is even more insane. I got an AD15 Lite last year for 55 shipped in a blister pack. That places prices fluctuate like bitcoin!
