News from Blade....

I had an awesome time this year. By far the best ever. I am refering to the social aspect of it. I picked up an order (which is awesome) and didn't bring much extra money for anything special, so I just looked around and drooled alot. This is the best year because I got to hang out with a bunch of people and just have a good time. If it werent for this forum I wouldn't know anyone and I'd be rather anti social (like I was the first few years).

Special shout out to Rob Connally and Joe Paranee for keeping a youngster company and not getting too annoyed at me (also for the drinks), and to Don H. for hanging out and making me a special knife and to Coop for taking an awesome looking picture and letting me watch.

You guys are all awesome. Also it was great to see everyone else who I met last year. Paul Long, Chuck C., Paul K., Kevin etc..

Had a great time hangin' with Jon Brand and Joe Paranee! Got to get to know Kevin as we manned the CKCA booth. Recruited Wally Hayes as member #151.

Spent quality time with Don Hanson, Wally Hayes, Kyle Royer (and his wonderful family), my buddies Kim Breed, Gary Wheeler, and the one and only Roger "Mudbone" Jones.

Looked everywhere for ya Roger P! Had the Blades with your articles and was going to run up to you like a little girl and ask for your autograph just to see your reaction :D

On the knife side of things, got to see my Royer sub hilt (from the video progression) for the first time and love it. Also handled JS test knife #2 which I purchased several months ago and love it also. Congrats Kyle on your JS and for taking both the Moran & Peck awards!

Was quite lucky to get my first Fisk knife at the show from Jerry himself. Have wanted one of his knives badly and feel very fortunate that it came to be. Jerry introduced me to his wonderful lady friend, Bob, and I subjected them to family pictures on my IPOD.

Recognition to Kevin for his dedication and an incredible amount of work on behalf of the CKCA. You have all my respect, Kevin! Thank You!!!

The scary part is that the ivory shown there is not his best stuff!!!!!!

Thanks Rob, I really appreciate that. There's a lot of us pitching in to insure the CKCA reaches full potential.

Joe, you're right as Don had another bag with him.

That bag was his NEW ivory, which will be added to his collection that he has stashed in his 10 story deep secret underground vault which is hidden under the faux "two holer" outhouse in his back yard.:D

He had yet another bag which he brought for me to pick out the ivory for my new folding dagger. ;) Which we should see in the not to distance future. :)

Wally, it was great meeting you and spending some time also. Its too bad I didn't get to check out your stuff. Next year hopefully..

Hey Jon,

Wally does the NY show in November. Hopefully he'll make it this year and we can catch him there! Here are few examples of Wally's work that live with me. He does Japanese style blades right!
