6 months ago I paid for two knives from Newt and they arrived today. the knives are awesome, very well built, fit and finish is great, the design is very well thought out, Newt is a very good maker, and Im very happy with the finished product.

The knives took alot longer to arrive than I expected, and after reading various threads on this forum about Newt, and a break down in communication between Newt and me(both our fault) I had given up hope and I thought I may never get the knives,

well I was just getting to the really panicked stage and Newt got in touch with me and after coressponding with Newt, the knives were sent and recieved by a smiling Me.

The bottom line of our coresspondence was that he had been having personal problems(I wont go into that on a public forum), he was behind on orders, he hadn't forgotten about me and my order would be shipped asap.

at the end of the day the knives did take longer than expected to arrive, but Newt promised me I would get my knives and he kept his word.

I wouldn't have minded waiting longer for the knives if the comms were better, comms were the only rough part of deal.

after dealing with Newt I dont believe hes a bad guy who intentionally rips people off, If you have a paid order with Newt I suggest you get in contact with Newt and sort it out, when email failed for me I sent a letter and Newt replied by email promptly.

If you have a problem with Newt but would like a livesay Knife NOW I would suggest going through one of his distributors. I would order from Newt again, but I would talk to him first and see how busy he is before placing an order.

Weren't you the guy I suggested to keep bugging him until he responded? I'm glad it worked-out for you.

Unfortunately, Newt's been hiding behind the "having personal problems" excuse for 10+ years. There's still a lot of people who he owes knives or money to and I doubt that he plans to ever catch-up with all of them.

Sounds like the blind squirrel theory in action to me. A blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in awhile. ;)

Glad you got yours; wish all the other folks would get theirs too.

CWL, I believe you were mate, thankyou for your advice

Danbo, I will have to remember that theory, very funny, Its logged in the memory

I love the feeling of getting new knives, Im still happy and cant put the damn things down
