I have no clue what to get. Kind of torn between the 710 and the 940. Maybe the LE810. $200 budget. any other ideas? Want a good edc I can rotate.

The 710 is big knife that carries like a small one. Although im partial to the model because it was my first "nice" knife, I cant say enough about it. You wont be disappointed.

710 is a significantly larger knife. I have a 710 and 943. Both are slick knives. 710 is d2 which is a a little harder, but comparable to s30v in 940.

Shot Show griptilian, M4 blade with g10 handles. Excellent folder and can still be found for around 200$

94O Series is amazing. Save a little more for the 940-1 CF model.

What BM's do you presently own?
Out of the three choices given, I would go with the 710.
It is a timeless classic.
I love mine, I have 5 (2-M390, 2-M2, 1-M4).
Absolutely fabulous knife...
Actually, I have owned all three models; the 940 is the only one I no longer have.
Was the 940 no good?
Not at all....it is just not my cup of tea.

Size comparison 710 vs. 943. Another thing to think about is handle material. I've noticed the coatings of the aluminum handles wear pretty fast. I've only had this 943 about a month and you can already see some wear. I'm not a huge fan of the 710 handles though. Kinda plain with some lame, impractical lines in them

I just bought a Rift, and a 710 in D2. I bought the 710 to carry but have found myself really liking and caring the Rift a LOT more. If you do not have a 710 then by all means you might want to pick one up and, as stated above, you will not be sorry. That said I have to put in a plug for the Rift as I think it is a really nice blade profile and great size. I have a Contego and the Rift is like it's younger brother. Good luck.

It doesn't necessarily have to be one of those three. Just looking for opinions and experiences with whatever you liked.

The 581 Barrage and 586 mini-barrage are great knives you may want to consider. M390 blades and Aluminum/G10 scales. I have the 586 and it makes a great smaller EDC knife. It is assisted but I've read that it isn't hard to de-assist if that is your thing.

I have been looking at the mini. I honestly love flingin the axis lock out constantly so I would end up de-assisting it if I went that Route. If I could pick up one of the shot shows with the Green/black pattern for a decent price I would be all over it.

I've seen them in stock online a few places for $204. They are that price and higher on the auctions sites. The regular one looks very classy but I haven't seen the LE in person.

Although I must admit Barrage 561 is fantastic. AXIS assist and M390 blade. It really depends on what your daily routine would be like. For me, my office is located in jurisdictions that disallow folding knife longer than 3.5". Also it is corporate office environment, so having Contego in my pocket is really out of place. For this, I carry 940 as gentleman's dress EDC with strength of AXIS lock frame.

If those restrictions are not placed on your daily routine, then 950 is heavy duty enough for just about all duty in Urban / suburban environment. I can see 810 in rural area with some woodwork is needed and you have rather big hand that makes shorter handle somewhat uncomfortable.

If you prefer D2 steel rather than 154cm, then I can recommend HK 14715. I have recently posted review of this knife in this thread; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1158694-BKC-H-amp-K-14715BK-AXIS-(D2-blade)

Good hunting.

So many choices lol

And don't forget about the Volli as well. It's S30V and G10 and very similar in style to a Barrage, with a blade length of 3.26" fitting right between the full sized and mini Barrage. I don't own one (yet) but have played with one and it just feels "right".

I bet this thread is not making your decision any easier! ;)

I've been eyeing the 943 for a long time. Also like the rift but hate the grayish 2 tone scales wish I was able to get the solid black ones
