Next Knife?

Are there any limited edition or limited run Benchmades that are well worth it? I saw a 710 with m390 somewhere that looked interesting.

Sounds like you don't have a 94x, I would say you owe it to yourself to get one.
The 940 is EDC epitomized IMO. The 943 I like even more.

The 940-1 would be a great choice, if you can justify the price.

REI currently is selling an exclusive Griptilian which is upgraded vs. the regular one with S30V steel and G10 scales. I bought one and there are a couple of recent threads about it. There occasionally are 20% off coupon codes and sometime really soon REI members will be receiving a 20% off coupon with their annual dividend.

I feel like that rei griptilian would easily disappear in some long grass/muddy riverbank/any outdoor environment. Kind of fugly imo.

My favorites among contemporary models are the 581 and 890. I would buy a 710 if it didn't have the recurve, but I would probably like my 581 more. I might like to try the new 909 except I already have the 912. The 810 looks interesting but I would like to handle one first. I've been interested in recent models such as the M4 Griptilian and the D2 Griptilian, but those are hard to find at reasonable prices.

Agreed. Getting harder to find good deals

I ended up getting a auto 9555 rift for free basically. The knife itself is smaller then my LE810, but I love my grip on my LE810. the 9555 is roughly 212 dollars or more depending on which one you want.

I really love 950, but only issue wit auto is that when you need to send it back to BKC, you need additional paper work. IMO, I don't see much merit in Auto. Although I like Barrage series, but AXIS Assist cause problematic issues amongst sheeps of general public.

The difference between 810 and 950 is that 810 for rural EDC and 950 for suburban EDC. (940 can be "urban" or office EDC)

The 950 aren't all autos. I got the auto, because my dad likes them. I however prefer a drop point blade, but it wouldn't be as effective as the tanto in self defense.

I'm probably going to end up getting a grip/mini grip in m4 :)

I had one of benchmade's representative told me that the M390 would be considered the excaliber to the other steel. The cool thing about the LE810 the value might go up on it since it is a exclusive.

The 940 is an awesome knife, as are many.......2.7 ounces of love! Can't even hardly tell that it's in your pocket. Locks up strong too.

I have a 940 and love it, perfect edc size that still gives you a long edge length, slices fast. I just ordered a 710 after being on the fence about it for so long, it took a "last one left" at a hundred and twenty something for me to strike. I hope I will like it, (love the axis) because this usually means something else has to go to justify the purchase.

Yeah 950 is manual and 9550 is auto. The good part about Osborne Tanto (Modified Reverse American Tanto) is that it has benefit of Tanto as well as drop point. Osborne Tanto retains blade thickness to the very tip. 950's wider belly makes other cuts easy. It can do skinning and slicing cuts just as easily.

I have tried thrust cuts and the blade has less give than drop point. (940 vs. 943).

If you don't have a 710 yet then it MUST be your next knife! Although the KW 810 is just bonkers good deal! I got the REI Grip and its the most solid of my 8 BMs outta the box was not expecting to be that impressed!
