I have a D4 Wave and a D4 Foliage Green comb edge and both are great. You can get some good deals on them. Search around. Most of the D4's in VG-10 steel are around the $40US mark. Those with the new ZDP-189 steel are around $75US. Probably not worth it when starting out. Good luck.
