For $375.00 I can buy the real thing, Not a wanta be. :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

Why not spend a WHOLE TEN DOLLARS MORE and get the real CRK and

free shipping....dah....

Sorry Rickster I didnt mean to copy your reply.... I just went this my first

thought when I saw the AG Russell wanna be...

Ron - I don't know if I'd put it here, but that is a nice knife. Good steel, double thumb lugs, lockbar stabilizer. I think that I'll let them work the bugs out before I dive in tho. Pretty happy with my Lg Classic user right now. ;)

I agree with all of the above - but it is nice to see good knives made here...

I'm a fan of Sebenzas and CRK overall, but what makes this a wannabe besides a Ti handle and RIL? Sebenzas don't use ZDP-189, a Hinderer Lockbar Stabalizer, switchable deep carry pocket clip, or stock double thumb lugs.

I don't find it particularly appealing. I especially don't like the clip even though it allows a very deep carry. For the money I would go either CRK or another manufacturer. JMO.

Jeez Tooonny, could it be the overall profile. the Scott Cook T/S, the Hinder thing, frame lock OR the fact that the guy mentions all the names of the maker's he copied in his description.

*** Deleted my comments after finding out Kershaw was the maker of this piece. ***
*** HUGE deal breaker for me. ***

I said it in the general forums and I'll say it here as well. This looks nothing like a Sebenza to me. Not unless every titanium handled frame lock is a knock off of the Sebenza. And "the guy" (to quote bigmark) is acquaintances, if not friends, with every one of those makers that bigmark claims he has ripped off.

Ok, that right there was freaking ass funny!:D

But......

There's a lot to like here. Tip down option for starters. ZDP bladesteel also. Full flat grind. If you look at all the little things, you start to see a heck of a value in this new AG piece. I'm certainly going to buy one. If I keep it or not is another thing, but I'm actually going to put one thru it's paces. It's easy to poo-poo AG's effort. But CRK has basically antiquated the Seb. He put all the "new" features in the Zaan and sort of proclaimed the Seb as "king of the hill, no further improvements needed". Well, AG decided there WAS room for improvement. Did he hit a homerun? I'm fixin' to find out. The very minute they become available (well, add two days shipping time to that, of course). :)

Don't crap all over AG's effort until you get one in hand. CRK has been blowing off people's tip-down requests for decades. He ran a limited number of full flat ground blades and then shelved that option as well. Folks have been disappointed in the supposed "upgrade" to S30V but CRK stubbornly sticks with it unless you want damascus you're stuck with the stuff. AG went with ZDP. Talk about thinking outside the box!!

When you get to a point that you won't accomodate the folks that buy the product, those folks tend to gravitate towards people who will. It's not rocket science.

I'm not planning to get rid of my beloved Micarta user Seb under any circumstances, expecially now that I've figured out how to get rid of that nasty wire edge when sharpening. But I'm going to add AG's new seb to my EDC stable. Will the AG piece hang in there? I don't know. But I'm certainly planning to find out firsthand. And durned well looking forward to the real time field test. Cheers. :)

Well worded rebuttal. I have to agree, there's nothing wrong with coming to the call of the consumer, and yes, AG has done that on several accounts here. As far as how good of a knife it actually is or whether I'll be buying one remains to be seen. I already own 2 knives by a manufacturer (CRK) that are tried and true.

Not that the door (wallet) isn't always open to new ventures.....:p

Read my post again and then apologize for acting like a troll.

I SAID " COPIED " as he states in his description....at NO time did i use the words " ripped off ".

No matter if he is a friend or not he admittedly is using what he believes is the best of several others design.

I like everything about it & I'm definitely getting one.

I agree this is in the wrong forum.

My personal opinion's.

The choil area was the first turn off, then the handle shape, then the un-needed bells and whistles...i think the only other mall ninja thing they missed is the bearing pivot system :D.

Your post is so wrong in so many areas i don't know where to start

First off, Chris Reeve is commited to his knives...he believes in what works and has put everything into giving us a solid knife....if he thought for one second that his knife could be improved upon for real world use (not mall ninja use) he would have done it.

Chris could have made a killing offering a automatic but he didn't. ;)

You complain about S30V....it's used by many makers and usually the only people who complain are those who have problems sharpening.

You make the statement "When you get to a point that you won't accomodate the folks that buy the product"

But yet you say this "I'm not planning to get rid of my beloved Micarta user Seb under any circumstances, expecially now that I've figured out how to get rid of that nasty wire edge when sharpening"

CRK has made the same knife and sold thousands and continues to sell in magnitude....these are facts !!....if everyone thought they were not accommodating the customers like you state, i don't believe these facts would exist.

Apparently CRK's folders don't fit your needs or do they ?

There have always been options to buy...CRK has certainly not been the only choice.

I have taken the hi road and tried many other folders and have always come back to CRK's folders because of there simplicity and function.

I also spent much time and money in search of the perfect knife and after a long search i have settled on a few and CRK is one of them. :)

I have found what works good enough for me.

Please tell me where a CRK has failed you and how this new knife with the added bells and whistles will exel in your daily tasks above the Seb or Zaan?

I am looking forward to you purchaasing this new knife and testing it as you say....please test it against the Seb and Zaan and post your results here so we can finally see the true short comings of the knife that has been around for over a decade. :D
