Nice features on new A G Russell Ti Framelock..

This was not the forum for a non-CRK knife discussion.
I wish someone had reported it sooner somewhere other than in the thread itself.

BigMark--- What are your other favorite folders?

I usually edc a fixed blade and a folder....if I'm on my bike it's usually a fixed blade but occasionally a folder only...if it's a folder only most likely a BM that i don't care if LE confiscates.

A couple months ago i had a seb on me and was having starter problems with older Harley and used my seb blade to jump the solonoid...recently just had the blade replaced.

With all said above....i have a large collection of knives and my favorites that i don't usually sell are from Chris Reeve and Strider.

As far as fixed blades are concerned...John Barker has been making me some outstanding knives and i have a Jay Neilson forged 1095 custom that he made for my needs.

Holy crap almost like I am reading a CS thread! Me personally I like it. But just a wee bit over priced and has all the right combination of features. Anyways keep on keepin on. keepem sharp

I'd only spend money on one if there's a left handed version.

But it looks nice. I'm getting sick of people shouting "Get a sebenza" anyway.

I like everything about it & I'm definitely getting one.

I agree. I love the short high mounted clip and the ability to reverse the clip. I think this knife has a lot of modifing possibilites, such as some thin wood/micarta panels on it!

A fair price for a copy whether it be a Rolex or a Sebenza is about 10% of the original. So this knife should sell for around $40. $375 is absurd, even for AG Russel, who tends to overprice everything.:thumbdn:

Good Lookin blade but for the price, I am going to have to say No Thank You, I would rather buy a CRK for that kinda money....

:barf::barf:

So this made in America, ZDP-189 steel, titanium handled knife should cost $40?

Read my post again and then apologize for acting like a troll.

I SAID " COPIED " as he states in his description....at NO time did i use the words " ripped off ".

No matter if he is a friend or not he admittedly is using what he believes is the best of several others design.

A troll? You can't be serious. Yes, you said copied. My apologies for interjecting the more strongly worded "rip off" in it's place but anyone with any basic reading comprehension could see that that was the gist of your post.

Just way too expensive for me. I would prefer a Spyderco Military frame lock.

Exactly.
Cheaper and Looks a whole lot nicer too.
IMHO I think AG's knife is rather ugly.

Well I think the Spyderco Military is rather ugly. I'm sitting here holding one in my hand and I really don't understand why this thing is so popular. Good thing I'm about to pack it up and head to the post office to trade for another knife.

I have lots of Spyderco knives but this one just isn't for me. Just goes to show everyone has their own tastes and like different things.

I really don't understand why people are getting so uptight and mad in this thread. I guess you can't ever say anything slightly negative about certain companies or the 'fanboys' get upset.

I guess any titanium frame lock knife looks like a sebenza? I don't see it. I also don't think you will find a ZDP blade in a titanium frame lock with a lockbar stabilizer for less than $150, and most much more than that. Certainly not 40 bucks. I doubt you can by the materials for that little.

I will probably get one to try it out... it might take features from a bunch of other knives.. but if it only takes features from the best.. isn't that a good thing?

I kinda like it. The ZDP should make a good user, in combination with the full flat ground to easily keep a razors edge and titanium handles with a frame lock, what's not to love?

Who cares if they used other peoples knive to make one of their own? To me it doesn't look like a sebenza...it looks like a combination of a sebenza blade and a bradley alias handle profile with the sebenza thumb notch in the handle. With a completly different pocket clip, plus it offers tip-up and tip down.

Thumbs up in my book.

Your right about that.
I'm sure it's a good knife,in it's own right.Theres no doubt you know it will be.Just look at the materials it's made out of.

But for that kind of money it just doesn't appeal to me aesthetically.
If I was on the fence and about to buy this or a sebenza,I'd be buying the seb.

But If I wasn't 26 and in school, and I had the extra money to throw Around,I pick one up.Just to see how it matches up next to a seb,and it's price point. Why not it's another quality knife to play with. :D

I don't understand the negativity. Maybe if it had been properly placed in the General Knife Discussion, it wouldn't have stirred up the CRK crowd, like a challenge.

But the knife itself is aesthetically clean, balanced, great materials, well designed. No, it's not a Sebenza. It's not an XM-18, either. What it is, is another fine titanium framelock, worth considering for those with the money. And A.G. was being courteous in acknowledging the positive examples that came before and from which he drew his inspiration.

Agreed... For about the same price as a large sebbie you get better materials and more advanced features... as long as the fit and finish is up to par... this thing should be a great knife.

Now.. the better question.. with this, the Ti Millie, frame lock ti benchmades, the izula folder, and bark river bravo 1 framelock (and probably many others)... where are we gonna get enough money to try em all out...?
