Nice little experience just now with CS's online ordering

I ordered a Shanghai Warrior. I have been wanting this for awhile.[/QUOTE. Do a net search for British Fur Trade Dags that where sold to North American natives. The dags that the Brits sold to them with the wooden handles look very similar. I read a historic fur trade journal for one of the posts up here. I guess that two natives where jacked badly on rum so one nails the other with a dag 2-3 times. Opened him right up and guy died where he sat.

Anybody receive any orders from Cold Steel since the company was sold?

I placed an order on December 3rd that has been posted to my card account but is still showing the status as pending.
I haven't received any response from multiple emails and I can't get through by phone.

For a long time I've always meant to add in a CS Canadian Belt Knife (CSCBK) when placing an order where I had free shipping. I never did. It came to mind earlier because I rather doubt CS will be keeping the CSCBK on the roster with the sale and all.

I surfed around a bit and at most places it's either out of stock, or it's in stock at an inflated price, and the shipping is at least 50% of the price of the knife.

Well, at CS's own online store, they're $12.00 and there is no charge for shipping. I thought that was a nice little touch.
Are you going to pony up for an appropriate membership?

.....
Not to pile on but, SanLuisObispo ... are you marketing or otherwise associated with GSM/Cold Steel?

If he is marketing they are doomed. It’s pretty basic that you don’t start a new relationship with your customers by overtly lying to them. By now his credibility is zero. Perhaps they will send in a new clown, and it would help if they find someone who knows something about the product and can tell us where they are headed with it.

I placed an order on Dec. 2nd and was immediately charged and sent an invoice. No correspondence since then, so I called CS' old customer service line and found it was disconnected. I then called the GSM customer service number and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I opted for a call-back which arrived after a few hours of waiting and decided to cancel my order and get a refund. The rep on the phone took down my name and hung up but the refund has not gone through for more than a week. At this point I wager I have a 50/50 shot of either receiving the refund or the knives in the mail but no clue when either will arrive.

It sounds like I need to dispute the charge on my card.
I don't have the patience to go back and forth with whoever they are now.
I was hesitant about the purchase but I couldn't resist the temptation.
Lesson hopefully learned.

I placed my order on Tuesday (12/8) evening and received the invoice and confirmation emails, but nothing since. Mine was only a $12 order for something not very high on my CS wishlist, so my intent was also to let it ride for a bit. I plan on updated this thread on my buying experience not just my ordering experience. I understand there may be delays on there end due to whatever transitions are happening, but yet again the issue is with the lack of communication in their part. I know there are shipping delays too, which I expected, but I assume my order hasn't shipped since my order is still pending. In the mean time I'll keep getting the CS products I'm wanting from various other sources.

I've emailed them 3 times with no response. The phone number is a mess.
Lots of options that don't seem to include Cold Steel.

I have no problem with mail delays etc.but the lack of communication is a red flag to me.

I've started a disputed charge case with my card company. I'll post the results here.

Hmmm...

I ordered a bunch of knives from shopruger.com on 12/01/20 and received them on 12/14. About right this time of year, plus they're having a big sale. I wouldn't have blinked had they taken another week.

I also placed two small orders with CS on 12/07 and 12/10. I expect to see them by Christmas, but not much before. After all, they supposedly terminated everyone in Ventura.

Not sure what the great concern is all about? GSMO buys CS, then books orders with the intent to defraud? Really? Patience...

Hmmm...

Are you going to address the issues concerning your affiliation that several posts have mentioned?

Patience is not an issue with me. I'm aware that holidays cause delays along with the covid related issues that are ongoing.
Lack of communication is causing my concern.
No response after emailing both of the contacts listed to be exact.
If you're not concerned good for you. I don't recall anyone mentioning "intent to defraud" but you.

I added an order for a little Kudu knife, a Gladius Thrower and a Jungle Dart. If they arrive before Christmas, I'll use them as stocking-stuffers. If not, I'll keep them for myself.

I ordered a Scout from KnifeCenter. They sent me an email a week later:"Manufacturer Delay". Whatever. Knifecenter will at least wait until the product actually comes, before they put the charge on my credit card.

I ordered a Shanghai Warrior on the 9th from Cold Steel Inc. Of course they put the charge on my card the next day. The order is still "pending". No emails.
I have been listening to shitty, customer service, hold music for at least 20 min....
30 min....40min.....60min.... I give up.
I'll bet $1000 no one is staffing the "Cold Steel Customer Service" line. Idiots!
After this, I'm done with Cold Steel Inc. It's not worth the hassle anymore.

A number of resellers seem to be waiting on knives from different manufactures/distributors right now. Has this been fairly common around Christmas time in years past?

Nope! I have been buying a stupid amount of knives for 9 consecutive years.
I'm sure Covid is at least part of the problem. A lot of mineral mines overseas have had radical production drops due to Covid epidemics.
This shouldn't prevent Customer Service from picking up the phone though.

Yeah, good points... Even more mundane reasons when you think about it, like factories being closed for at least part of the time, and distribution systems being slowed down.

I was really beginning to wonder if knives were following the hyper demand of firearms, but it doesn't seem so...
