Maybe the knife was taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. Maybe something was changed on it. Obviously a Hinderer and none of my 3 are off. In fact looking at the picture again, the g10 is pulling away from the metal liner, a pretty good indicator of something damaged.

Return it to the dealer or maker with a description of the issues. While it's a bummer to get disappointed when making a purchase, usually dealers and makers resolve the issues when communicated with in the proper manner.
 
this thread reminds me of a zt fan talking about an emerson in fit and finish.:)

send it back to vendor/dealer or rick h. for repairs/replacement.

Would it matter ? I personally would not respect this person's stand because of the way it's being handled
