Just arrived this morning. Vey nice machete. Great fit on the handle. The blade could use a little touching up but overall well worth the price.

Oh yea the arrowheads are very cool too. :D

Nice basic cordura sheath. Loose fitting thick cordura sheath. Can stand on its own
without machete.

Nice! :D

I just ordered my Lite Machete last night. I was wondering who would be the first to post some user pics.

If Jeff sees this thread, I'm curious as to why they chose the natural micarta instead of the color used on the 5 and 3MIL. Is it because this color is a little closer to the orange handles you see in some machetes and it's and a little easier to spot if you put it down somewhere?

ETA, more pics of the machete and sheath!

No special reason on the micarta color. Mainly just simplicity for simplicity. Yep, the edges on some of the condor convexing always need touched up but they are 90 percent there compared to standard machetes.

Cool, thanks for the pics. Mine shipped out on Thursday but it has to make its way through a border first, so I don't expect in for another two weeks unless I get lucky. Can you post shots of the sheath? Edit- wearing the sheath?

Hey Jeff, what about warranty on the Lite? In the original machete thread there was discussion about what it would be since the blade was coming from El Salvador. The knife connection says lifetime warranty and your website didn't say anything otherwise that I saw. Just curious.

Thanks for the pics! Mine is on it's way to my house as we speak, any day now.

Great pics, thank you! I ordered mine last Saturday, and am still impatiently waiting!

Not speaking for Jeff but it's a tough call to offer a lifetime warranty on a tool like a machete.

The handle is high quality but it's still a machete blade that is pretty much made to be disposable.

We haven't decided yet what to do on warranty since it's hard to offer a no questions asked warranty on something we don't make (the blade). With that said, I'm sure what we come up with will be better than the industry standard.

Jeff, Since the handles are removable I was wondering if the blade alone was going to be offered as a replacement. I think the handles will far outlast the blade. I never considered the ESEE waranty would apply to the blade.

That is an interesting idea. Probably won't fly because it would amount to yet another inventory item that ESEE would have to consider. However, I immediately thought about buying another machete backup. Their price point isn't so unwieldy that it is out of the question.

I think the bigger thing, at least for me, is I can't see a lifetime warranty for something that's disposable. Or at least consumable. Though a 200,000 swings warranty might be hard to enforce.

Good point. Very affordable machete and the quality is top notch. I was considering buying another but if I did damage this one i woudn't want to
discard the handles. Replacing the blade would be good option. Then I'd still have two.

I agree with SG its meant to be disposable after good hard life of use, I think like with the knives, even though they have a warranty, they can and will eventually break down to a point where it may be safer to get new knives, but this is HARDLY a soon or near event, seriously. I am contemplating buying a little 3 and seeing how much use and abuse I can put it under till I wear out, not the blade, me. And tire of seeing where its hard but used self can be pushed. Adam, I honestly dont think they need a warranty compared to the knives, the machete will with what is intended for? Wear. And thats just fine with me, its what they are used and meant for, no real way around it. But if you are on your first few outtings and it has CFailure, than yes, please replace, cause I think its like expectancy along with proper care and use? Should last a long while imo. But other wise? I've loved what I have seen, and what I have done with them. Esee is a brand I love using. No ifs or buts.

Just got mine in! I expected the stock sheath to be a throw-away. I should have known better - it's not. As you can see above, it's a well made, simple sheath. I'm likely going to mount it to the side of my pack. Shown below is a Condor leather sheath, which I'll probably use for belt duty.

Definitely tough to warranty something that is designed for hard use.

I have no doubt it'll be a quality product and the customer service will be top knotch as always. The nice handle is part of the reason I decided to go ahead and spend the extra coin over a standard Imacasa, but the handle won't do me much good without a blade to swing from it. :D I've been seeing lifetime warranty on dealer sites and if it isn't they should be informed as such.

Looking forward to mine.

Diz your pics always turn out great, but we gotta get you a light booth man. You like that dark lighting too much. :D
