What was the NMSFNO originally designed for? I'm interested in learning what exactly inspired the design of this model and how Busse envisioned its' intended uses...thanks.

Me too, I just bought one. It looks like a hell of a chopper and general combat knife.

Right, MM. I see it as a heavy camp/survival knife. What that has to do with nuclear meltdowns, Special Forces, or outlaws, I can't say for sure. But is is a great heavy duty knife. One of my favorites.

If you need one knife to pretty much do it all look no further, i use this and a culti for about everything.

Yeah, beefy hard use camp/survival knife is where I see its role. It's not balanced as a fighter - the NMSFNO is all about the woods. Enough forward balance for chopping, great convex grind doesn't bind up for splitting, melted spine doesn't chew up your baton, and the rest of the nuclear meltdown treatment makes it great for various grips for stuff like shelter building, bushcraft, and finer tasks like making fuzz sticks.

The NMSFNO belongs in the woods, not a safe!

It would be my "One Blade" if it fit in my Kifaru E&E slip pocket out of sight of sheeple's eyes. It'll do it all no matter what the task. It's comparable to a FSH but is more agile in hand. The non-fusion handle allows for many grip options without having your pinky finger trapped by anything.
What it's intended purpose is, I don't know, but it's a great blade.

I use my knives for whatever I need them for....:)

I think when Jerry designs them he uses his great mind and excellent knife making skills and many years of experience to do what he does....:thumbup:

and one of the many things that I find outstanding about Busse Combat is we listion to what everyone wants:):) and needs:thumbup:

That is why I LOVE MY JOB:thumbup:

PURE AWESOMENESS:thumbup:

I just got my first one today on a trade, and I think it takes the cake:D I almost don't regret having to sell my HH:foot:

Thanks Helle.
Honestly I have beat this knife so hard and it wont quit. I have hit it just about everywhere along the top and bottom, including the handle while batoning and it is unstoppable. When it gets stuck I just beat the handle until it comes out then we go right back at it again.
I am probably the 100,000,000 person saying this but these blades are super tough and dont quit.
This is one Busse I am never going to sell.

What it was actually designed for is a very special team (Special Forces) who go into a high radiation nuclear area and stop the runaway reactor process (nuclear meltdown) using this special knife. These team members are chosen from repeat offenders who just can't help themselves (natural outlaws). The knives have proven to be surpisingly useful for civilian purposes.

Well duh.

You sharing.:confused::eek::D:p:foot:

Well it's obvious, ...to crush your enemies, to see them run before you, to hear the lamentation of the women. And split some logs.
