NMSFNO designed for?

Thanks, Helle. I couldn't quite swing a Limited Edition at the time, so I stripped it and convexed it. The NMSFNO is a brute of a compact chopper, and I would recommend one to anybody seeking a knife of this type. It bested every knife I own in its size for chopping.

Some stiff competition in that group too, says a lot to me.:thumbup:

Thanks for sharing.

Have you tried a FSH or HH?

I'll be the contrarian here...although I have not used the NMSFNO extensively, I prefer the FSH family knives.

I'll be contrarian to your contrarian. I own both, and MUCH prefer the SF handle to the Fusion. I also think the weight of the FSH is excessive for practical carry. Sure, it outchops the NSMFNO, but not by a lot, and certainly not enough to justify the extra weight and Busse Pinky you get with the fusion handle.

I have not had the opportunity to try out the FSH, but others have said the same thing. I don't doubt you, rezinguy. Still, the NMSFNO is my current best midsized chopper.

anyone have an idea how the bushwhacker will stack up against the NMSFNO/ or are these knives in two different families?

most of the knives that i have are purchased for collection purpose, but i have no problem using any of them if the need or notion arises.

They are pretty much in different categories, at least as far as I am concerned. The BWM is a much larger/longer knife.

thanks a million iamtoast, that is what i was looking for a quick answer, i wanted it for a user, clearing limbs, small brush etc, if i am understanding the use intended correctly for the bw, it is a small machete of sorts.

I agree with MustardMan.

That's how I see it. Unlike some Busses, I think the "Bushwacker" is named for what it does.
