Well all, I'm heading to Disney World tomorrow for the week. Going completEly bladeless. Here's to hoping that I don't end up with a noticeable twitch by the time I get back. Keeping a flashlight clipped to my pocket as a place holder.

That's the one in Orlando, right? whitty whitty is always going on about how they'll eat you take in an under 3" blade, like a ZT 0900 or Hinderer Half Track. Just FYI.

I went there this time 2 years ago. I'm a knife knut. Obviously I would rather have a blade on me.

That said, you won't need it. Seriously, pack up what you need for the day and just wave your wristband at things and have fun.

I did bring a Leatherman Piranha. It's TSA compliant and I used it to snap off a tag off a stuffed toy I bought my daughter.

Just go and enjoy it. We're heading back when Star Wars opens up :D

Actually, I used my little buck stockman many times while there opening candy and stuff for the kids.

We will be there during last Jedi opening also this year. My wife says we should see it at Disney springs but I care not to fight the crowd. I’ll just wait till we get home. And I’ll have my little buck unless it gets taken.

I remember the day when an IWB Smith .38 used to be just fine, as long as you didn't advertise it.

Here is the link to my 2nd time going to Disney World. First time I took a ZT0900 and second time I took a Hinderer Half Track. I do agree with others that it really was not super necessary but we are all here because we like our knives and like to carry them everywhere! Just FYI. Magic Kingdom was super cool about it, Epcot was OK too, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom told me to put it in my pocket and not bring it out at all. They still let me in with it though!

Kinda like going naked, but not exactly...

It's a bit like going naked, except that I'd rather go naked.

What, like you expect some ninja to jump out anytime and hand you a package to open? :p

I like knives as much as the next person here but it's just ridiculous and borders on neurotic to be unable to go without a knife for a few hours. It's disneyland for crying out loud. Not like it's a construction site or the woods.

Or maybe he expects to purchase things that may need to be opened and doesn't want to gnaw his way into them like a caveman .

Wonder what's up with not being able to go without a knife for a few hours...

...it's just ridiculous and borders on neurotic to be unable to go without a knife for a few hours.

Not for a few hours even? Haha

Where are you getting this "few hours" timeframe?

Per the OP:

I calculate a week at 168 hours. "A few hours" seems, to me, to be a gross under representation of such an ordeal.

So let's call it a week vacation. It's still quite neurotic to feel you'd rather be naked than be without a knife when there's a tiny chance of needing to cut something other than a package. To call being without a knife, an ordeal when you don't really need one, smacks of mental illness. Spending time with the family on a vacation and being unable to have fun because you don't have a knife in your pocket? That really doesn't sound normal. ;)

A tiny chance of needing to cut something in a week? Disagree strongly.

And what's this "normal" you speak of?

After all it was you who said that the OP would be in disneyland the enire week. You can disagree all you like. but what would you really NEED a knife for inside disneyland.

Normal? Probably not you, if you are uncomfortable without a knife in your pocket even if there's no need for it. :D

Yes, agreed upon, standard definition of normal is needed here :D

A definition of neurosis might be more in order.

neurosis

[noo-roh-sis, nyoo-]

[noo-roh-seez, nyoo-] (Show IPA). Psychiatry.
1.
Also called psychoneurosis. a functional disorder in which feelings ofanxiety, obsessional thoughts, compulsive acts, and physicalcomplaints without objective evidence of disease, in various degreesand patterns, dominate the personality.
2.
a relatively mild personality disorder typified by excessive anxiety orindecision and a degree of social or interpersonal maladjustment.

Compelling... Tell people they have a disorder/disease. What’s your hourly rate? I may need some help to become normal ;)
