I'm looking for a camp/survival knife that is all go and don't really care about it being all that nice. Although I wouldn't say no to a nice hamon or temper lines.
I'm looking for a 7 inch blade. Absolutely no cord wrap for a handle. 1/4 inch thick to be able to handle batoning. I'm open to recommendations on the steel. Personally I only have experience with 1095, O1, W2 and 5160 and they've all worked for me.
Maybe triple quenched, triple tempered is pushing it for the price I want to pay?
Basically, I just want an economical knife I can depend my life on. Is that too much to ask?
