NO integrity

I'm with Spyken on this one. You couldn't meet the terms of sale so he sold the knife to someone who could. I don't see the problem.

Spyken is fine in my books based on what was stated here. Someone else agreed to spyken's "terms of sale" before you did. Period. By your "he's in China" statement, I'd be inclined to think a little differently of your integrity, though, or at least ignorance, if you really think they're one in the same.
Spyken also has cool avatars:thumbup: :D .

I haven't been around the forums as long as Spyken, but I have read his posts on a few different knife related forums and must say that he seems like a real class act to me!

Going strictly off of how YOU say your transaction (or lack thereof) with him went down, I can find no fault in HIS actions. My friend, I think YOU'VE missed the mark (pun intended)!

I have met spyken personally and dealt a couple of times with him so for what my noob opinion is worth, he is a great fellow.

He does what he says and makes good on his promises, and in my experience, has on occasion delivered beyond the original deal, always willing to accomodate even when I have been less than an ideal buyer.

i agree with Tom Keith's and many other members' assessment of the situation.

a quick search will reveal that both are good people to deal with, just with different styles. bigmark408 has offered to wait hours in the past, to give buyers a chance to respond, i'm sure that is appreciated.

in this situation i think spyken didn't have to do that since he did not promise anything.

i'm sure bigmark408, you don't reply to every single enquiry on time, all the time right? and i'm sure you would have good reasons for that as most people have things to do.

so please be understanding for the couple of hours absence due to time difference.

James - Glad to see you've moved the knife so fast.

Bigmark408 - i do hope you can consider the situation; best wishes to your father.

I can vouch for Spyken and I think you are out of line to scream that he has no integrity. Why would he want your bloody money order anyway..he is in Singapore for f%$ks sake you bloody idiot.

Sir

I do not want to start a war of words here but Spyken is a great guy. He lives in Singapore and is very hard to get ahold of. I email him every now and then and it takes him usually a few days to reply. He is out of work right now so he may have been even harder to get ahold of. I am sorry about your situation and the preceding events that took place and I hope this whole thing works out for you.

seller clearly indicated conditions of sale...that were not met.
James & I have done MANY seamless deals in the past and it has always been a distinct pleasure dealing with him.

imho it all boils down to the fact that ya can sell (or not sell) to whomever ya want to, i see no problem myself.

FWIW
This situation was brought to my attention and could not understand Mr.Marks complaint in the first place.
1) how can Mr.Mark jump-in hours later and think he has the rights to a deal?
http://knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/799654/

and secondly, what about this. Kind of makes me wonder, what's going on?

Lack of intgrity or just plain rude?

That can only be answered by those that personally know Mr.Mark.

OK , i said i wasnt going to comment on this thread anymore...but some people just love to beat a dead horse over and over...its a shame people love to act like they do but its so common i call it Human Nature.

this person had posted a link trying to make me look bad but he has proven my ability to send paypal.

first of all you say spyken was clear in his post ...but NO place in his post does it say paypal only !!

i buy , sell & trade alot of blades and I have friends (cyber friends) that i can call anytime and they will send or receive paypal for me.

when i posted on 2 forums clearly " ill take it" that meant i would buy the knife...period !! i said contact me to work out the details.

when i returned home the only message that i received from the seller said ...he does not do m/o paypal would be better.

the reason i was upset was because....#1 i said "ill take it" NOT conditional ill take it or not pm sent.

i thought "ill take it" meant just that...a promise to purchase.

im not saying im perfect because we all make mistakes and i have certainly made my share.

im just saying this sale was not handled properly.

im sure spyken is a great guy...he just made some mistakes...also this knife was advertised forsale on cpf after it was sold here and the time stamps prove that....so there were other factors to my post.

i know challenging a man's integrity is serious and looking back i should have titled the post different.

i wasnt crying about loosing the knife i was upset about the way it was handled.

as a matter of fact someone i dealt with in the past had emailed me by the time i got home and offered me a hinderer flipper from 07 blade for a lower price ...he is in the states....and he shipped the knife without receiving funds and said a m/o was fine.

spyken and i have talked in several pm's and we are cool and i wished him the best...as i have done earlier in this thread.

instead of waisting all you energies posting here be constructive and buy some blades.

i know your all good people and i like the way you got your friends back...no need to keep posting.

sorry, I have to clarify the point about the CPF post.

The CPF for sale post was made by a friend of mine (my handle on CPF is also "spyken" but I have like less than 10posts there) - I am not a regular on CPF. You can see that the post was not made by me. My friend wanted to help me sell the knife. In fact, I didn't know he was helping me post (but thank him for his help nevertheless) on CPF but he did know I was trying to sell the blade - he's a local and we meet often to chat. He didn't know it was already sold when he posted (I didn't check his time stamps, I don't want to flog a dead horse also). When you alerted me to it (via PM), I actually called him to ask if he posted, and when he said he did, I promptly called him to tell him to mark it as sold. I would not have agreed to his posting if I had known beforehand, but his intentions were altruistic. It makes no sense why I would want to post on CPF when the knife is already sold, there's no benefit nor advantage nor any interest for me.

I do thank Mark for letting me know, it would confusing if the blade were already sold but a FS post still existed (of course any interested buyer on CPF would have been informed appropriately as there was no longer any knife for sale, so no one would be harmed).

Mark,

I am happy that you found an XM-18 fresh from Blade 07 at a better price, and I sincerely do hope your Dad is feeling better.

I do not like to be upset also, and I must say that I was quite sad the whole day because of this.

On my part, I sincerely hope you feel less upset now and can look forward to your incoming XM-18. The XM-18 is certainly a very well built knife from a very skilled and talented maker.

To all those who have spoken in support, thank you very much.

James

Well, that whole "somebody else posted with my account" thing sounds pretty fishy to me, but whatever.

OK , i said i wasnt going to comment on this thread anymore...but some people just love to beat a dead horse over and over...its a shame people love to act like they do but its so common i call it Human Nature.
You just don't get it. YOU are the problem here.
You strike me as one of those perpetual victim/drama queen types who starts pointing fingers at other people when things don't go as you planned. Love to preach about respect and integrity, how everybody knows you, and of course, you're their hero:jerkit:
Give us a break. Grow up and take responsibility for yourself.
The last time I saw your username was on CPF accusing a buyer who didn't get his package, and whining about how the buyer knew the package wasn't insured, as if that meant that you as the seller weren't responsible for getting it to him. Noone who thinks it's a buyer's responsibility to get a package to himself needs to be giving any lectures on ethics. I put you on ignore there, and I'm putting you on ignore here. Personally, I would never deal with you under any circumstances.
I don't know how you ever had "hundreds of deals" when you can't even function on a basic level, but people like you don't need to be trading on the internet at all.

Owen, sorry, I wasn't clear about the CPF thing.

No one has access to my internet accounts. The post on CPF was not made with my account (if you do a search, you won't see any "spyken" post for sale recently, except for a sharpmaker, haha). I'm not a CPF regular because I don't know much about flashlights (I have only one Fenix). It was in fact posted by my friend, a CPF regular, using his own account/handle. I absolutely had no idea he posted a FS post until Mark alerted me to it by sending me a link (again, thanks).

I have dealt with Both BigMark and Spyken and know them to both be honorable people. I would suggest that sometimes in the cosmos somethings go wrong and it was probably unintentional on both parties and to leave it at that.

I agree. Wiser words were never spoken.
