About a month ago my wife placed an order at twowolves for a desert tan izula I've been wanting for so long. her intentions was to give it as a bday gift sept1st.

I still haven't received the knife and I'm starting to wish she would have left me chose a better knife dealer, cause I've never had any of my knives stopped at custom or late on delivery.:thumbdn::mad:

The pain the agony, I'm going to go cry in my corner for my missing izula.

I wish you had contacted me about this.

I do not normally ship to Canada for this reason... the only Izula I have enroute to Canada at this time is in customs, as the customer knows. There is nothing I can do about it. With this aforementioned Izula customer, shipping fees to Canada were not paid, but I shipped it anyway, Priority, to be nice.

If this is your Izula, then the problem is out of my control and I dont know what to do to make it right.
This has happened to me before when shipping to Canada, which is why I rarely do it.

cuphead,

#1 Why the heck did you post that HERE????

#2 What are you thinking? Your rant is so unclear it appears your just trying to harm their business.

#3 flaming is just bad form, there are so many better ways to do this, your current way is just plain ignorant.

I was confused about the post myself. I thought, "Swamp Rat has a knife called the 'Izula' too?". It seems like an honest mistake though. They're both Rat knives.

Thank you, Paddling Man. :D

I think this should clear itself in time. Canadian Customs is harsh but a short fixed blade is not on their enemies' list. :) It may simply be held up in heavy workload.

Good luck getting your Izula out of customs.

I also want to say that Twowolves has always been a reliable dealer. I have had nothing but great experiences with them and will not hesitate to do more business with them.

Canadian Customs is very slow. I'm sure it will show up in time.

I would not think twice about ordering from TwoWolves. All my purchases have been in stock, shipped quick and excellent communication. They are bookmarked here!

1) While thinking this was the appropriate thread to post in, I thought for anyone in the future from canada ordering from twowolves this would be a good heads up. not sure about you, but when I pay for something I expect a smooth transaction.

2) I'm not trying to harm their business but consumer protection is more of a priority to me.

3) I don't see this as flaming, just a short review of how my transaction went. I do apologize if this offended you even though, this probably doesn't concern you.

I simply would have wished more followups would have been taken on this, since it has been a month ago and the only updates I received was when my wife contacted them through email.

The first was wondering if the order had went through because she was experiencing problems with paypal. so she received a reply saying the order was put with the other international orders and from the look of it was not shipped yet. This was 2 weeks after the order was place, it's my understanding it also took a little longer then normal for paypal to process the transaction, something I still don't understand.
She was told they would ship priority and would contact her for additional shpping fees... Fine, no problem here... but she never got an email for the fees. she had payed the full amount for the DT izula and us shipping fees, we're talking a few extra dollars in difference.. no big deal.

She emailed 2 weeks from then trying to understand why it still didn't arrive, she was told that it was probably held up in customs and that they would check the tracking # to see where the order was at. still no reply from twowolves.

All in all, there was still some pretty poor communication and I still don't have the tracking info to know if any of this is even true, hell who knows if it's even shipped.

So before you start bashing on me, take a good look in the mirror and ask your self if you like pissing away money and not receiving what you ordered online in an appropriate shipping delay.. or better if there is problems to have full knowledge of whats going on.. since the item is payed for.

if it weren't for this post i'd still be assuming its in customs but not 100% sure.

tony and porcupine I appreciate your understanding and I too hope everything at customs speeds up and that I receive the knife. I wouldn't see why....the knife isn't illegal....

cuphead, leatherman asked why you posted "here" meaning the Swamp Rat forum -- you originally posted in a very wrong place (wrong company, rather than FEEDBACK)

To clarify, it clearly states on the website in several places that I do not ship internationally. I do occassionly ship to Canadian customers who contact me first... generally forum members.

Secondly, it took over a week for the payment to clear Paypal. That happens when funds cannot be verified right away and again is something I have no control over. The payment did not clear until close to the end of the month... paypal should have notified you of this like they do everyone else.
Once the pmt cleared I had to see if I could ship it for the amount paid or if i would need to cancel the order or check on more funds. I informed the customer that i would ship it for the amount sent because i would not actually loose money doing so, but to please contact me in the future before ordering ... i not only had to pay the difference in shipping, but also the exchange rate on the transaction. I went ahead and shipped it to be nice and told her so.
I told her when she contacted me that it had not arrived that I would check on it, but that it was reported in customs. If I forgot to resend the tracking number, then that was my bad and I do apologize for that. If my last email was not received then I apologize for that too... I have gotten that a lot lately as our lovely internet provider updates their hardware.
I certainly did not expect this to be in transit so long. My last few shipments to Canada went smoothly.
I have done everything i said and your implication that i am lying about it is uncalled for.
I really hate it when a transaction goes bad during shipping. It is something that is out of my control and I generally cannot find a quick way to fix it. Since i do not often ship internationally, and will hesitate before I do so again now, perhaps someone can tell me what you do when you are told something is in customs and nothing can be done about it until it is released.

And thank you to everyone who is being supportive. I truly am sorry this transaction is not going well and would fix it if i knew how. Short of posting the shipment info here on the forum, which would be out of line, I dont know how to proceed.

I dont know how to proceed.

Just keep doing what you are doing Lupa.

I have run a business for about 10 years now, and if there is one thing I have learned; it is you can not please everyone, no matter how much we try.

Keep up the good work Lupa, you are still one of the best dealers out there:thumbup:

Before I retired, I was a US Postal Service manager, in charge of a post office in New York City, in a wealthy neighborhood that included the American Museum of Natural History.

We routinely got inquiries from customers who were waiting for packages to clear customs, asking us to expedite this. Meaningless. Impossible. Customs is a separate agency from the mails. When they release the item, it will be delivered. Until then, the shipper and delivery service have nothing to do with it. It's not their fault.

I've ordered many fixed blades from the U.S. both from dealers and custom makers. The time customs decides to hold onto a certain good is always a crap shoot and the sender really can't be held responsible for it. Sometimes customs will hold an item for 2 weeks and other times it seems to sale through. Sometimes customs applies duty fees and taxes and other times not. Again, not the dealers fault. The same dealer can send out 10 identical knives and each of them be treated differently through the border.

I'm from Canada too, and I have nothing but good things to say about LupaWolf and TwoWolves. My last transaction with them was great and they have superb customer service. Sometimes, as others have stated, you have to be patient...they have no control over Canada Customs.

My order (with an Izula in it) took 3 weeks to reach me...an average time for most of my purchases from the States...which is fine by me.

They are highly recommended by me, and I'll be doing more business with them fairly soon.

I never said you lied lupa, i just said I had no tracking # provided as proof it was shipped, for all I know your just someone over the internet my spouse did biz with.
Secondly I appreciate that your keeping an eye on this thread, means you actually care for your reputation and taking that into consideration I'm sure you honored the transaction.

You also mentioned in the email to her that you didn't ship to canada and it was indicated on your website, that's what I meant when I said I wish she would have let me select a better dealer, (not that twowolves is bad or anything) just that I would have made sure shipping was available to canada. but I guess anyone can make that mistake when they chose a dealer from ratcutlery's website.

On another note I'd like to apologize for posting this in the wrong sub-forum. I thought I had posted in the R.a.t. cutlery section, thinking it would be the appropriate place to do so since it is a rat product.

Anyway I'm just a concerned customer, worried about the product being received on my end. That is all.

I live in Europe and gear from the US seldom takes more than 10 days fortnight to reach me,often less.
Those Customs you have in Canada must be some vicious types:eek::D
