No love for Northwoods Indian River Jacks?

I'm a big believer in what you're doing Derrick and just ordered my first from you. Burnside in Calico and can't wait to start using this one!

With all the excitement about the Presidential (and rightly so), one thing that may have slipped under the radar for many of you is the Derrick finally got more Indian River Jacks in stock. I have been waiting patiently and was hoping for some kind of bone option. Boy did Derrick come through for me! Amber carved stag bone! It has the browns, reds and oranges that I love in bone and I have an affinity for single blade slippies. I am a very happy camper, placed my order last night!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention, this run has (carbon steel lovers cover your ears) CPM-154!!! I think the knife provides some tremendous value. Sorry this is starting to sound like an advertisement, I am just excited. :D

Haha Erik, I saw them come out right before the Presidentials and my itchy trigger finger almost cut loose. Glad you found one you liked. Of course, we'll be wanting pictures once you get it...

For some reason, my memory tricked me on this knife: I recalled it was 3,5" long.
As I told Derrick, I might just be seeing too many knives :p
Yet, I'm really tempted...

What maker produces the new Indian River Jack for Northwoods and are they convexed, like the last batch ?

We will be putting mammoth and ebony soon.

Awesome - just received your email saying my smooth bone has shipped. How's the pull on these models Derrick? I took kind of a shot with this one so I'm hoping they aren't nail breakers. Or maybe they're pinchable?

And any plans for jigged yellow or green bone? Looking forward to seeing how the mammoth & ebony look. I've a Case/Bose in ebony that looks good, so I'm guessing these will too. Good stuff!

Joe

They are not nail breakers. They were made by Queen and we opted not to convex them. We will likely send a batch off to Bark River to have them convexed. Through the years we had almost as many people who wanted to sharpen their own vs having Bark River in the middle.

Anyway, con vexed ones are a bit down the road.

Thanks Derrick, good info there. Jigged yellow bone maybe down the road? And a single blade EZ Open model as long as I'm wishing for things! :)

Great knife!

You only need one pocket knife;)

What exactly is Amber Carved Stag Bone? Is it like jigged bone, but instead of jigging it has been carved to look like stag?

Received mine today in smooth bone. Very well executed with fine fit & finish. Top notch materials used as well especially at this price point. Good job Derrick!

One small, teeny tiny comment - this begs to have an EZ Open version. :)

Nice knife for sure.
Joe, how would you rate the pull? The nick looks good, although on this particular pattern I would have preferred a long pull ;)

Little tight for me, perhaps around a 6. Not too bad but a little harder for me to open with RA, and as the blade sits pretty deep, it's not really pinchable. I agree a long pull would work. And that had something to do with my EZ Open comment too. But a nice knife indeed.
