No love for Resi

Res-C is just not heirloom stuff. If I'm going to drop big (to me) $$$ on a quality knife, it better last for generations of hard use.

After all, my great grandkids will need solid gear to fight off mutant zombie hordes in the post-nuclear dystopia we're busily creating for them. :-)

Ive gotta admit. When I first saw a Res-c handle I thought...Id never buy that. I love basic wood handles... and the other ones micarta etc are ok. But the look of the res-c really put me off.

Granted I have never even felt a Res-c handles knife.

Now after a few months of looking at them here I have grown to appreciate the look more. Add to that the comfort everyone seems to claim and I am willing to give it a chance. I have a Blade scrap max on the way to me that will be my first and I am gonna order a Franken-Dog Mauler from the swamp. ( none of that sissy fairy dog mother stuff. DAMN YOU JERRY FOR SAYING THAT AND MAKING IT STICK!!! )

Res C is definitely an asset on heavy choppers, where you are chopping hard.

I often think about checking on changing out the handle on my Basic for the newer res c version, minus the grooves on the sides, and slightly more meat on handle.

I think you started some s-it Al. I'm with ya, but our numbers are low... These res-c lovers are fanatical and shifty eyed... watch em.

Euklid, Johannes Gutenberg, George Washington, Max Planck, Julius Caesar, Voltaire,... Not a single one of them was a res-c lover. We are in good company brother

If something works well I like it ... if it does'nt I don't ...

Smaller blades where weight does'nt kick in so much as a big "negative" ... I like nice looking handles too ... but am not put off at all by Res C ...

Larger blades which are going to be users ... I like less weight ... if Res C gives me that I am happy ... and if it is "matt" and does'nt give any "tell" from shine ... that works too in some uses ...

You can't distinguish from practicality and preference IMO ... it does'nt matter how nice it looks ... if it does'nt do the job as good or better ... that is decisive for me ...

I like the looks of hand made cowboy boots ... but I would buy a pair of Danners if I needed to walk 50 miles ...
