No Machete Talk On The Forums?:

Our sub-forum moderator has an obsession with machete's, but I think he's in therapy as a result of it.

:D They take up my life more than the forum does, recently. I want to teach my dog how to pick them up by the handle but recent attempts have failed.

My cat Titus loves my machetes and frequently tries to attack them when I'm doing modification projects!

The two sub forums I surprised that we don't have here are a machete forum and a Mora forum. On a side note, since my Ontario converted me to the dark side, I just ordered a Tramontina 12" and a 14" to try out. :D

i love machete's and personally think they are one of the most underrated tools around. a lot of folks around here definitely have them and use the piss out of em. i rarely go out with out one. very versatile

sweet, what is that..??

I tried a mod a couple months back but I ruined it by trying to apply a scandi with a belt sander:eek:...

It started as an 18" tram bush and ended as a 14" golok style with a horrible attempt at a 6" scandi by handle, ruined the blade really.. looks horrible ...

what is a decent blade to mod?? to me it appears the longer the blade the thicker it is (microscopically)

It started off as a vintage Corneta (Imacasa's name before it became Imacasa--not the modern hijacked sub-brand by Invermec) cane machete that a certain machete nut was so kind to hook me up with. Really sweet machete, and I hope I did it justice with its makeover!

In terms of good blades to mod it really depends on what you want the end product to look like! Blade length has little to do with thickness--it all depends on the individual model. :)

nah man, everyone had Corneta's name. It was just one of the brandings. You can find some Cornetas made in Puerto Rico, and other spots in south america/ central america too. Invermec had the same branding/stamping as everyone else, they just bought the Corneta name under everyone else's nose a while back. I think they also own the Guatamalan Collins too.

Ah--I knew that it was originally the Weyersberg importation mark and that Weyersberg later sold its holdings, creating Imacasa. Wouldn't that technically make other producers (even back then) copiers of the mark? Suddenly I'm confused!:D
