No multi-tool, am I missing out?

I wouldn't bother. How they carry is the number one reason why I never have my wave on me. They're big and heavy. There's no way around it. If you wont carry it then what's the point of owning one? The second reason I don't use it is because they suck in use. Yeah they're handy but simply trying to turn a screw is a huge PITA.

And that's why I don't carry a Wave anymore. But the SwissTool Spirit is much lighter and smaller ... Juice S2 is even more so. I guess it boils down to how much you really need one during the normal course of your activities. A guy who works on a ranch 24/7 has much different needs than a guy who works in an office 9-5.

Good posts! I know I'll end up with one soon.. and I'll probably go with a bigger one and just keep it close by. I try to pack pretty light. Last thing I want to end up doing is looking like I have Batman's belt on if ya know what I'm saying.

I carry a Surge at work everyday, together with a folder/small fixed and the obligatory SAK.
The pliers are probably what I use most, followed by the screwdrivers. I rarely use the knives on it, mostly because the 420 steel is really crappy and I can't be bothered to sharpen them all the time. So I would recommend getting one with 154cm or S30V steel.

I've been wanting to buy a skeletool CX for a long time now, because I want to carry something a little smaller for when I'm not working.

We carry almost the same when I'm off duty except I have a Swisscard in my money clip and a farmer clipped to my back pocket (the aluminum handle takes very well to adding a clip) along with my EDC folder and Ruger LC9. I have (let me stress this again as a knife addict...HAVE) to have a single blade folder on me as my EDC. I don't care what the multi tool does as far as tools, blades, pliers, scissors, etc... I have to keep a single blade folder on me out of habit. At work I keep a Leatherman Blast on my duty belt and it stays there permanently now.

Perhaps adding even the slender Swisscard to your daily carry would come in handy as a MT.

Here's my solution....

EDC knife in RFP. Micra in LFP (not on my key chain, in my pocket so I don't have to go looking for it).

I carry a backpack/computer case with me most places. I may not have it right next to me, but it's usually close by, maybe in the next room. I carry my larger Multi-tool there. The weight doesn't bother me in the pack. No way I'd carry it on me, unless I'm doing work on the house and need it constantly.

Anyway.. I've found that a Micra in the pocket is the best solution for me. End up using it all the time.

I keep a Leatherman Squirt P2 on my key chain. I find it very useful. While I usually carry a larger knife, the little blade works in a pinch. I also have the Wave and an original. The Wave is very useful and is kept in a small pack with bits. I only wear it when working in the outdoors or camping, e.g. hunt camp work day. The original is in a tool bag in my truck box, just in case...

If I could only keep one folding knife, it would be my Wave.
