No pics in sales threads.

If one can email a pic, why can't they post one in the thread?
If one can post a link to pics why not just post the pics?
PB not working? Doesn't wash in my book, I figured it out when I started posting on line and haven't not been able to post pics in the eight years since using PB and seven years selling here on BF after going gold.
I will say I don't and never have had a smart phone so I don't know what is involved there, but it seems to me that if you can get online with one you should be able to put pics up.:confused:
Are 'smart phones' that hard to use?
Are they incompatible with BF's software?
Do you not have a PC or are 'smart phones' the new PCs?

They say excuses are like butt holes and everyone has one, so lets hear yours....

If a thread has no pictures
and it has links to pictures
95% of the time I move on

If folks are to lazy to post pictures
There is NO KNIFE i will buy unseen
And or email the person for pictures.
It should never have to be like that..

I have been on other hobby-type boards where photos were required and the mods would delete threads immediately if they didn't have photos.

I want to see the photos too and I'm too lazy to ask for photos. Like other people, I move on to other threads.
 
Myke - you ask the question that goes through my little brain every time I click on a sale thread with no photos. :confused:

NO - I am not going to email you for photos nor do I care to need to go to your Photobucket or your Imgur album. :rolleyes:

I use a smartphone exclusively and never had a problem adding pictures.

I completely agree with you on sales threads without pics.

I also think they should be left in the thread as long as the thread remains accessible.

Yup it would have to be a grail with all fees covered before I'd contact a non pic posting seller.

Oh they know, they just don't care, like Spark doesn't care.
As long as it's allowed it will continue.
Hopefully newbies will see these type threads and do the right thing.
I'm afraid there is no hope for the habitually greedy and lazy though.

Thanks p, I guess you're smarter than your phone.
As to leaving pics up. I delete pics from PB that I don't own any more so they get deleted here too.

That's a head scratcher right there.
All PP transactions are discrete if I'm not mistaken.
Must be a newbie thing as I've never seen it in a sale thread.
 
No pics, PayPal F&F, plus fee, can't find packaging but advertised as new.....I just move on.
Another pet peeve is when people don't reply to posts or PM's regarding their for sale / trade thread.

I suspect a lot of the buying here is the result of window shopping. And no pics = no window. If the item is something I'm really keen on, I'll ask for the pics. Otherwise, it's like walking past an empty shop window.

I found that high-resolution pictures being resized to smaller before uploading here makes it much easier. ( if you're receiving an error while trying to upload pics using BF)
 
To me, no pictures often means any singular or combination of the following factors: lack of preparedness, impromptu and spur of the moment whim to sell, lack of professionalism and perhaps a sense of self-entitlement because someone has a sought after knife. I am constantly learning how to make my own sales better and certainly resizing my large and obnoxious raw format pictures which I import from imgur and although I do not wish to hold someone to my own exacting standards, I do expect some semblance of professional presentation. "Net to me" does not bother me as much as "PayPal F&F" does, but the net to me statement certainly prolongs my own decision making process.
 
When I see no pictures in a sales thread it screams that there is something wrong with the knife. Instant red flag just like "PP F&F."

"Net to me" BS needs to stop also. It's laziness. If you want to sell your product, YOU do the leg work and post pics with the final price.
 
I am going to admit to doing this on occasion. At times I just can't get the photo's to load. I usually have written the text while waiting and will post the text with the offer to send photo's by Email(noting the photo's will be up soon). Then I will refresh the page and continue trying to get the photo's to load. Eventually they will load and I edit the thread accordingly.
Like it or not it is what I sometimes do. Often the photo's load fine. Other times they don't and if I have time to keep working on the problem I might post the text. If I don't have time to keep working on the problem I do not post the text.
