Ok Guys,

I really hate to do this as this will scare him off but no choice left:

Gene is a fake name, his real name is Jeffrey "Eugene" Carte. See picture of the people search that Brancon did (he's a lawyer and really made a lot of this possible). If the name sounds familiar it should, it is the name of the owner of Karg knife, the very same one that stole all those knives and money from people a few years ago. You can see his texas address is the same as Jeffrey Carte, with his new Ohio address where Gene & Nocturnal just so happens to be, not to mention Jeffrey's middle name is Eugene. So after him and his wife stole all the money and knives they decided to start over under new names etc. This is where "Gene" & Marie come into play. They started Nocturnal but didn't make an LLC until this year because they were afraid of exposing there name. Now he uses "Ivan Black" which Brancon has discovered does not exist. But look at the address, that is the same as Jeffrey Carte's and his dad's.

All his personal information and Nocturnal's LLC are in a PDF that I can send to anyone scammed by him. The search was done by Brancon who is an attorney, not some internet inspector gadget.

This guy has this scheme down, he builds up a business, starts stealing and just changes names.

There have been so many vendors, friends, customers & people close to this guy that he has conned, Please spread the word and stop this guy. If you need the files, email me and I'll send them to you.

This was just pointed out to me, Jeff Carte had the handle the Sun & also Karg knives before he was banned, look at the sentence structure and what he writes (theme of the excuses):

FYI- the 2 middle links aren't working, Mike.

A couple of questions:

Has this guy (Jeffery Carte), ever attended any blade shows? Does anyone actually know what he & Marie look like?

The fact that he came on here all of those time, & gave those detailed excuses...it's almost like this is one big exhilarating game to him.

J.C., is one of these people who really make you wish, that either "Karma," or "Vigilante Justice," will finally catch up to him. I'm not even one of his victim's, & this guy really makes my blood boil!

Edit: Now I completely understand why you decided to finally post this thread today, Mike; instead of giving him a couple of more days, to possibly come through. It's obvious, that he's has zero intentions of ever paying any of his customer's back. What a waste of human thieving garbage. :thumbdn:

They should be working now, thanks bro. I know he has been around a couple places, he owes a lot of money to people man and has zero money. It is all lies, every single thing he says or does. I do not have a picture and am trying to get one.

Man just in that thread, how many more days, months or years can we give this guy. It was one thing if he made a mistake, this guy is a con artist, he has a past. All time would do is let this guys pyramid scheme take in more people in hopes of paying off 1 or 2 of the earlier ones. It was just time to post the information. I have the PDF's for anyone that wants them and please spread the word.
 
I cannot imagine supporting your family like this. I have trouble sleeping if I'm not 100% on a repair I've done.
Karma is no joke......it'll catch up to this POS.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I can't believe there are people who put this much effort into being thieves. Why wouldn't you just apply yourself/effort towards your actual business??

This is unbelievable. I truly to hope that the victims have some means of legal action they can take to bring these scammers to justice and get their money back. At the very least stop this from happening again.

FWIW, I posted on Nocturnal's Instagram page. "gene" replied with the same old BS; everyone is getting refunds, I am not a crook, blah blah blah. He still refuses to provide his full name.

Good job, Mike and Brancon. You have done a real service for the community. Thank you. If we ever meet in person, the beers are on me.

I'm the same way. I won't let a knife leave my shop that I personally wouldn't trust to deploy to Iraq with.

Thanks to all who have worked to expose another fraud. Having investigators like y'all around make me glad I'm one of the good guys!

You are one of the good guys even if you are a paranoid nutjob.... But seriously, guys like Gene/Jeff Nocturnal knives & Trouble bladeworks not only hurt the community it destroys the knife business for legitimate makers such as yourself.

There are situations when unless a maker can take downpayments or whatever they can't make knives, but that is a very serious commitment that I know plenty of makers that have never failed to deliver on. This isn't a situation where this guy got behind, he is a con artist that has done this before.

You don't know how right you are with the statement about how these scumballs can ruin an industry Mike!!
My family has been in the HVAC business since 1928. There are sooooo many thieves out there it is extremely hard to gain someone's trust. This leads to customers getting 5 or 6 estimates on repairs......wasting lots of time.
Because of shit like this we no longer advertise......everything is word of mouth.

1. They have been MIA for 30+ weeks after taking peoples money on an order and disappearing. Your can read the comments on their latest post which was 30+ weeks ago. I have a friend who paid for a knife 18 months ago because they said it was available, then they didn't send it and disappeared.

2. They claimed that their mill was down, family issues etc. Then said all of their electronics went down (one can only guess EMP attack or lightning from Zeus himself) is why nothing got sent out and they couldn't contact people for months.

3. After receiving that last payment they immediately went awol. Haven't heard a peep from them.


There is a pattern to these guys, what is more infuriating is their blind nut huggers.
 
In order to stop this POS we have to stop giving them business. No more orders, no demands, no followers or supporters, no $$.. then he can go F**K himself! We the knife community have the power to end this scammer, together!
 
This is getting more and more common thanks to the Internet and Social Media.....

Trust is no longer earned, it just flows to anyone with enough "likes" and a big enough following.

^^all this tells you nothing about who you are dealing with.

I stick to these rules, and I feel it helps eliminate these rodents...

I will never pay $1 up front.
I will only make payment through PP. (obvious reasons)

If I can't do both those things then I don't buy the knife, or, I will buy it on the secondary market.
Sometimes I pay a little more.

Go through the GBU, even "established" makers do some questionable things, so I stick to this rule for everyone.

Sorry about getting all "preachy" about this, but time and time again people make transactions on the internet with the same amount of thought (lack of) as sending $1K in an envelope across the country....
