I ordered a knife from this guy. He seems to do nice work. We agreed upon no down pmt as he did want one. No biggie, I planned to make good as I usually do. I send him out a MO upon completion. I always check within a few if it was recieved. Notta! No MO. I told him to give it a few more, if nothing I would send out another. I would then cancel the first from my end. He then accused me of not even sending one out. Made it sound like he is always the victim and bla bla bla. I was pretty ticked off and deleted the original post. I do have a few though that will put the whole deal together.

Still no money, do you still want this knife? If you have not mailed the money I would like it to be sent through PayPal ASAP. Use my email address above for the PayPal.

What do you mean according to my emails. I sent you out a money order for the total as promised by me. If you like to accuse people of things that are not true you will find it hard make new customers. I had to scrape that money together as the money I had set aside had to go to my medical bills. Oh, I feel SO sorry for you that you HAD to make a knife. It IS what you DO insn't it? Yes, you made it to my liking and made it without pmt. That is what you should DO! All other knife makers I have bought from never accept a down pmt and are very easy to get along with. I think maybe you need a vacation or just need to hang it up! Don't go accusing me of not wanting to take care of things on my end. I left you an email to call me and the times and #s to do so. I offered to pay on my CC but you chose to not answer me. You better get customer service figured out!

Gilbert.

Instead of taking a defensive stand toward me(possible future customer), you should have gone a different route. I do not take accusations lightly and have been known to step up to the plate blow for blow. I am a stand up guy who likes to make things right. The reason I ordered a knife from you is I loved the look and fit and finish in your pics. I have bought from Dozier, Wilson, Lozier, Chaxx Knives and CRK just to name a few. I have over 10 full customs and 5 semi-customs and have had no issues with any. I even have a couple that have been on order since the beginning of the year and have another year to go. I ALWAYS try and make it right. I offered to mail out another MO because I know this is how people make their living and wanted to be fair. I have never had this happen but trust the people I choose to do business with. I'll tell you what, you call me in an hour and I will give you a CC# you can run through PayPal. This will expidite the transaction. I just need a little time on the computer to log my bills and I am on dial-up. I also ask as a favor that you do act so harshly toward people. Give them a chance to make things work. This world is full of hate and mistrust as well as many other nasty things. Everyone can do their part to make this world better.

Thanks,

Michael Ellerman

Hello Gilbert. I have not heard anything from you since your reply to my email on the 19th. I paid via PayPal on the 12th, which was the same day and night of our correspondance back and fourth. It is now the evening of the 22nd and would have expected a knife buy now. I understand you were on vacation but you wanted me to make a decision before the 18th, and I did. I did recieve a transaction ID# from PayPal which is 2WN20400HJ7702436. I honestly think this is way to long of a wait for an immediate pmt. If the knife has not been sent out in time to recieve it within the next day or two, I would ask that you have PayPal credit my creditcard.

Thanks,

Michael Ellerman

I'm really not sure what this guy's problem is! He surely feels like a victim in life and makes sure every one knows it. When he sent me the inflamational email trying to make me feel guilty about making me a knife to my specs and so on, he really made it look as if he went out of his way by taking my order. I ordered a knife he already makes in a steel he uses. I haven't recieved a reply to the last two emails I sent him on the 20th and the 22nd. No knife yet as well. I think the guy needs a hug but it won't be from me. If a job or career of YOUR choice feels like your teeth are being ripped out on a daily basis, quit and move on.

I honestly do not think I would recommend this guy to anyone. He makes you feel guilty about the things that have happened to him in the past and for making a knife the way you want. AND, seems to blow you off after recieving pmt for the finished product.

Also looks to have been busy posting in the Makers Area while he was on his vacation. He didn't know I contacted him about the PayPal transaction until the 18th or 19th but could sure make posts to sell knives. This is really to bad this happened because the guy makes what looks to be a stunning knife.

I didn't receive any message from PayPal and I continued to look. I logged in and my balance was $0. I waited until the next day and the account was finally posted and I was going to send the refund today which I will do right now. I do not wish to continue this transaction with the person (MPE) who posted this thread. I enjoy making knives too much to have to deal with all this stress and I was able to post items at the persons house where I was a guest, I don't have to be tied to the home computer to work on the Internet. I am doing the refund for the knife as we speak and I will sell the knife at a later date on this forum. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD THIS MUCH TROUBLE OUT OF ONE KNIFE DEAL AND I HOPE IT IS THE LAST!!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT GOING TO POST THE EMAILS I GOT AS I DON'T WISH TO DRAG THIS INTO A MUDSLINGING CONTEST AS I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THIS AREA. EVERYONE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY GOOD TO ME ON THIS FORUM AND I HOPE TO CONTINUE TO MAKE MY KNIVES FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF ALL. I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO GIVE KNIVES AWAY JUST TO MAKE FOLKS HAPPY BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT MUCH ANY MORE. The last post that I can find that I made was on the 16th and I didn't leave until later in the week. I am still able to view email and work online even from the comfort of home.

I went on a week long trip last week and I discover your email. I apologize for not finding out about this until today, 08-19-07. Let me sift through the rest of this bunch of emails to see if I can determine what is going on. I don't see anything but there are a big load of them so it may take a while to find something.

Hello Gilbert. Just checking to see if pmt was recieved. I did not hear or recieve anything to confirm a successful transaction.

Michael Ellerman

Gilbert, Your times do not add up. You didn't find out about this until the 19th because you were gone on a weeks vacation? Well, that means you would have left for vacation on or right around the 13th, not later in the week. And the day after I paid for the knife through PayPal. Hey, no need to post the emails you got, there all right here for you and everyone to read. The only email I did not post was th one where you accused me of not sending a money order out at all, besides throwing a pitty party for yourself about making a knife.I got upset and deleted it. My reply is listed though, third one down in my original post. I tried to do everything possible to buy that knife, including meeting your time frame of payment with using PayPal instead of another money order. I like using money orders over all else, its just the way I do business. I did not notice " No Money Orders " under your terms and you were fine with getting one. I am sorry it never arrived. There are people I have done business with on here who will vouch for me that I am a man of my word. I did not try and pull one over on you. I know when someone recommends using PayPal and does so, the funds are usually transfered rapidly. That is why 99.9% of the people say they will ship immediatly with pmt by PayPal.

You have it your way and even though you posted emails and didn't wait for me to send your refund and work this out offline, I will not take this any further and will not post any of the emails I got as life is too short for too much of this headache. I wish you well and hope you never have a bad knife deal again. My times are correct but I will not post to this thread anymore unless some of my knifemaker friends ask me to respond as this is why I have responded so far, at the request of others.

I do plan on having another great weekend as everyday is a great day to me, just some days are better than others. You got your money back but I never received either of the 2 money orders that I was told that were sent.

I sent you emails on the 20th and 22nd. Didn't hear back from you. Posted this on the 25th. How long do you think I was going to wait to take care of this? This was the 7th day since my inquiry of pmt recieved. Its funny you jumped on this so quickly but could not respond to my emails. Finally, a "Pending Refund" is issued after all this time!

I do plan on having another great weekend as everyday is a great day to me, just some days are better than others. Things are great in my life and if they get any better I don't know what I will do except enjoy the blessings even more. I wish you well also and hope you get well soon also.

MPE, I didn't take the time to read through all of the e-mails, but from what I read, it looks like you were just showing what an ass you can be. You had a legitimate concern, but you handled the situation very poorly.

I agree. Is it me or is it just a little odd that MPE "deleted" the email that set this whole thing off? Somehow, I don't think we are getting the whole story here.

There was one email that was deleted and it was because I was just going to leave it go. The more I thought about it, the more mad I got.Accusing me of not sending a pmt and saying that he is a victim in many cases with customers taking advantage of him. Read the emails posted before you judge me. They are all there. I invite "any" and "all" emails Gilbert may have from me as they are all right here. Don't think for one minute he is taking the high road here by turning the other cheek. There are NO other emails to see. And, it would have been handled differently if he wouldn't have thrown a stone and then decided to ignore my emails after pmt was made. I paid on the 12th, waited to hear something or recieve the knife, and tried to make contact a couple times. I think I went about trying to take care of this sufficiently before posting hear. Even if we only count up to the 22nd,which was the last I tried to make contact with Gilbert, that is 10 days. If he arrived back and found my one email on the 19th, how come he could not respond to the email sent on the 20th and the 22nd? The interesting thing is I have bought from Koster,DMKnives, ChaxKnives, Lozier, Winston, Dozier and a few others without a hitch. Even after I recieved the inflammatory email I tried to do what I could to buy that knife. I really wanted it because I feel Gilbert does incredible work. I guess maybe this could have been handled differently by both parties.

i agree. whats the whole story??

I dont see how ya can make a judgement with out the email that set all this off, why was this deleted?? could ya re-post it??

without that i dont know WTF is going on.

I normally dont post in threads like this but I was thinking this is a good example of why delivery confirmation is a good idea...I sometime think why pay .65$ but heres an example when it would of helped.....just a thought

If I had the original email I would surely do so. Maybe Mr. Norfleet would like to post it. He said he has the emails and could even post the date that would correspond with my reply which I will again post. I agree with Jim as well. But this time it would not have helped because it was never sent out. The 8/22 post will show this as I say in my email if the knife is not sent out to recieve within the next couple days to credit my Paypal account. The Paypal confirmation of pmt is there. The confirmation of pending credit to my Paypal account is listed here as well. All the dates are here to see. I paid the $157.50 originally by money order, 1 money order, not 2 as said by Norfleet on 8/25@8:27pm. I sent the MO out and checked a couple times to make sure it arrived. I told him if it did not arrive in a couple more days I would mail him out another. He then said he didn't think I even sent a Money Order out from the sounds of my emails. Hmm. I'm confused there. I always check if pmt was recieved. I wouldn't want someone waiting and waiting for a pmt and not know about it. I guess that is what I get for trying to be considorate.

As I said in my last post. Maybe we both could have dealt with this better then we did. I will let Gilbert post THE email if he wants to complete the chain of events. This thread was done between Gilbert and I and still is. I posted last night because of the posts I seen by others. This happens to be the reply to the accusing email I recieved.

I have had a poor experience thus far with this maker. He rarely replies to any emails. I paid him in full in August 2013, and still no knife. When I purchased it he told me 80 days. Now he has posted on his website 180 days. If you are looking to buy a knife from this character, think again. He has told me the last couple times that he did reply, in the past 3 months, that he is shipping it that weekend. Why lie? Just be forthright with people and communicate. I would understand. I know that making knives is not easy or fast.
I guess its my fault for paying this guy in full. He is truly on the shady side. I know better next time.
So here is my question to any others out there that have purchased a knife from this guy in the past 180 days, a year or more. Have you received your knife yet? If not does he communicate with you as to when it might get finished? Anybody get totally stiffed by this guy?

the original post is 2007 now you say 2013 its now 2015 .im slowing the boat down a sending the lures out.I love " troll"ing for big mouth bass.

Good luck too all involved in this thread...
