Northern California Trip PIC HEAVY!

Great photos! Thanks.

I once had a tire fail in Rocklin. The only good thing about the experience was that about 2-3 blocks from the Goodyear place was a terrific breakfast eatery where I got a great meal. I'd stop there again if I ever pass through Rocklin.

So what kind of results did your folks get while dredging? Anything noteworthy?

Where in Rocklin? Do you remember the name of the place? I know of a few places that fit that bill there :)

I will try and get a pic of my dad's find this weekend. He did alright, nothing to shout about, but it sure is fun when you find anything!

Though there won't be any dredging on the trip next year. The Governor just signed a bill that halts all dredging for two years while an environmental impact study is to be taken. I think it took effect last Thurs. Very lame.:mad::mad:

I think the Goodyear place may have been on Pacific St. I believe the restaurant was a couple blocks down Pacific---within a block or two of Rocklin Rd. Unfortunately, my memory is poor.

Too bad about the dredging. As long as it isn't seriously screwing up spawning grounds, I'd like to see some places open for groups like your family.

hmmm... Granite Rock Grill ring a bell? I know it used to have a different name a few years ago.

Sounds pretty familiar. I saved a business card but finding it now would be another story....

the town of sierraville almost burned down by a forest fire in the mid 50's.My dad and I were requested to help fight it.I think we were there a week.Burned right to the edge of town.

interesting about the dredging closure, seems more and more environa*** are discovering us gold prospectors and whining about it, shutting us down.

i highly recommend you contact the local mining associations or groups and band together and send letters to the gumberment

GREAT PICS BY THE WAY!!!!

What views! I need to convince SWMBO to take a vacation in the western wilderness with me. Great post. Thanks Christian

Looks like a great trip. Make sure you post pics of the gold that was found.

I used to do some panning in the area east of Stockton, but had very little luck at finding the yellow stuff. I got plenty of black sand, though!
