Noss's Busse Vids gone forever?!

IF someone were to pick up where he left off, what would everyone wanna see most? There were often complaints of his methods. What would change that?

Better editing! Especially for a Busse test. Sitting through 70 minutes of that was

Noss is the SOLE reason I got into Busse. I have now owned four and am very greatful for the effort he put in for the viewers. His videos/ reviews will be missed...Has anyone been able to contact him?

Yea deffinatly need some SR-101 love. and his methods were pretty solid other than starting with compromised knives some of the time. One would need to have a certain set of tests that cover all of the aspects of what makes a knife good and reliable and have the same uniform tests given to all the knives the same. And also test all top manufacturers and steel.

Picking up where he left off...hmmm...I'd love to see a test of some SR-101 (RMD, M6/9, Rodent Series, Rucki/Waki) In terms of INFI, I would love to see the new basic series done (considering he tested the M-Infi of the older Basics). It also pains me to see the beautiful Busse(kin) broken in two eventually, but it was still awesome to see them go through the paces. Besides that, the vids were just plain entertaining to watch.

I often frequented that forum, they told me about this site.
Noss had started a thread a few months ago appoligizing for not being online much and then lack of new test vids. He stated the reason as a very serious health issue. Hope all is wells brother Noss, heres to you getting better and eventually maybe starting they site back up.:very_drunk::very_drunk:

Health first and formost.........

That sucks, his videos were amazing.

Hope he is okay too, I look forward to seeing LOTS more testing videos.

Oh, dericdesmond, still want me to pic up that Scrapivore? :D ;)

What I really saw was a degradation of the will, from 2008 where all the big deal started. The 2008 and the 2009 was the Boom Era, D-Test videos came up almost with a systematic time frame. 2010 and 2011, the was something wrong in the air. The Time freme of the Destruction Test do not have no more the consistency "especially the 2011 ones". Noss response to it was... that He didn't have the time on is disposal like in 2008. So Noss went from no time no more, to a sick state, to disappear without explain why to nobody.
Noss, also rise many question, one of many; Why Busse and Kin was the N1 on his on D-Test/s?

Thanks for the heads up.

I see that there is already a few people who have said that Noss was the main reason they started getting into busse. it wasn't till I saw Noss that I knew that Busse wasn't just hype and was worth the extra money. I am curious as to why the Youtube videos were shut down though. I can see if he didnt feel up to doing D-Tests anymore so he shuts his site and forum down, but the videos? Makes me think some other knife companys got upset or something..... who knows mabye its a conspiracy lol :)
That said I think it is a little early to jump the gun. Lets just hope everything is well with him first and see if he starts back up again. Hope all is well Noss.:)

I do not understand this Google policy. I use Goggle to search the net but do not have any account's such as G-Mail. Can someone explain it in........... idiot term's? :o Thank's!
It's just more of the same old invasion of privacy. It mainly affects people with google accounts. However this article at CBS News points out: "In particular, people who bought smartphones running on Google's Android software, and signed two-year contracts to use the devices, may have a tough time avoiding the new privacy policy." http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162-57388186/q-a-googles-controversial-new-privacy-policy/

+1 on why I found Scrapyard and Busse. Techniques were strange but it lead me to here and owning a great piece of steel.

Shunsui,
Thank's for the info. I have a You Tube account and will delete it. I was looking at the Index.Dat problem yesterday on my computer and never was able to figure out how to delete them. Of Course, you can pay for a service to do it for you as apparently, it's damn near impossible unless your a computer whizz thank's to Microsoft. Maybe Noss think's someone will be able to identify him with the new policies?

As I said in an earlier post , it was Noss's vids that led me to Busse and Busse kin knives . I hope he is well or getting well and that he'll be back . I was just wondering (as I've only been here since Dec) , does anyone know if Noss has ever been a Bladesforum memer ? I'm certain it would have not been with a name that would indicate it was him , but perhaps some one knows here .

HOLD MY BEER ANDS WATCH THIS !

I think it sucks that those videos are gone. I bought an Ontario Pilot's Survival Knife because of those videos. I'm sure like every thing else it somehow has to do with money and somebody's greed one way or another.

I also like to see extreme testing of knives.
It helps when I want to decide to buy a sturdy knife.
I just don't have the money to try them all
:D

Thanks for the link Esav. I knew Noss was a member and you saved me time in finding his info. I just dropped him an email. I hope it finds it's way to him. I enjoyed the big guy's destruction tests.

I know a lot of guys questioned them or their value. I don't care - they told the truth, even though I'd never use my knives that way, as a knifenut it's fun to think of how tough your knife could be after watching it beaten to death. (in most cases)

I started out with the "I'd rather see a more controlled, same-same testing, like X lbs lateral pressure, X hits batoning, etc" until I thought about lab vs real life.

All you may have to baton something IS a tire iron, a 3lb line sledge, an iron pipe, etc. when you need to cut into a vehicle or for any other "emergency" situation.

I'd still prefer a more scientific/controlled viewpoint as well, but, for me, his videos show what potential real world scenarios can inject into blade performance/duration.

Hope that makes sense. It's late...
