Noss's Busse Vids gone forever?!

I have no clue why people on this forum knock Noss. Noss answered many questions that no one else answered. He showed that Busse charges allot but backs it up with a very durable blade that performs. Many other manufactures cannot make this claim. He spent much of his time and money to provide this information to our community. I think his best test was on the Skinny Ash. This was not a "sharpened crow bar" yet came through the "D test" with flying colors. Noss is also a character in his own right which made his videos more entertaining than the rest. His ending videos with a overall summary of the knife were my favorite. The only reason I have to be upset with Noss is that he pulled his great knife reviews from the internet. Noss is the real deal and not many of us can make that claim. I hope Jerry Busse realizes that Noss is the best salesman that he has ever had! Many of us bought Busse knives because Noss proved to us that we were getting the good stuff with a Busse knife.

^^ May be one reason that contributed to his walking away. I sure was a fan of the testing videos.

I don't know if Noss's thread started here or in General, but he showed a heck of a lot of knives in his tests. It was real brutal testing and a lot of dark horses shined in his tests not just Busse/kin knives - which were excellent.

There were a lot of 4 sword and above fixed blades in the ratings. For me 4 blades and over was a win! ;)

Noss did what he thought was best for himself. He worked hard at what he done. In the end he needed to just take it down and walk away for himself and most importantly for his family. It is what it is. Testing knives was a passion for him for many years. There came a time when he had to make a decision and all the work, praise, and criticism meant nothing to him because another fight and another goal became more important and rightly so. He provided a valuable service to the community at his own expense in real time but by no means does he want it to become a lasting legacy. Noss will always be the real thing. If you were fortunate to be an audience, critic, or participant than that will have be all there is to it. Noss walked the walk more then once. He owes nothing and there doesn't have to be an end to a story. He simply pulled the plugged and moved on to take care of what is really important. Many of us wish him and his family the best of luck and good fortune. Boat drinks, Noss. You the man.

That is a very nosslike brand of gibberish you are posting, along with nosshigh levels of noss praise and self-congratulatory delusion. Talking about yourself in the third person now, are we?

You and I were thinking the same thing. I'm curious what he meant by the "photobucket members" jibe.

Impressive foresight and planning to have created a member name 5 years ago, and only post now. How many more do you have as back up? Saint Joan??? More self important drama. Stick to beating on knives. At least many people liked that.

I sure as hell own Busse knives because of Noss. I'm sure there's MANY like us out there.
500 bucks for a knife? Yes, right. But then you see that it can take a kind of abuse other knives cant and that makes you go, ho, well, I do get something rather unique in return. Again, had it not been for those videos showing the difference, why on earth would you bother spending that kind of money?
And then there's the gay ass comment of "knives are for cutting". We all know that, but if cutting was the only purpose then everyone would use 1$ scalpels and get done with it. When you get a bushcraft knife/mountain knife/survival knife, beisdes the brain dead obvious purpose of cutting there's also the possibility of it being used for chopping, prying, digging, hammering, that's the idea of having a big knife. With the videos Noss made you could have a better idea of how far you could go with each knife, and frankly it was surprising to see how poorly some high end knives ended up doing. And its not all about Busse either.
The Cold Steel kukri machete did pretty well too. It was refreshing to see how a 20 dollar knife rated among the best of the best. I bought a CS kukri machete because of that video too, and guess what, it does kick ass, outstanding knife.

FerFAL I have a feeling Noss hurt the feelings of a few guys who spent a crap load on survival knives that quickly fell apart under the "D test". Some of the less expensive knives did much better than the high end knives. I was amazed how well the Fallkniven A1 performed. I think Noss was surprised as well. He really liked that A1. The bottom line for me is no one else is doing what he did and this has left a void for guys like us who like to see if a knife that is touted to be durable really is. I was shocked at how flimsy a few of the very expensive knives turned out to be. I think he will be back if he is able. He seemed to enjoy the "D test" very much!

Agreed.

Agreed, I bought my first 3 Busse knives because of the videos and a CS kukri as well. And for my buddies who didnt want to spend the money on busses, i rec knives from the testing on them on that site. That site was invaluable.

I bought a busse because of this guy after seeing what the busse could take. This guy was awesome and funny at the same time.

I wonder if manufacturers of knives that didn't fare very well in Noss' tests put pressure on Google and/or Noss to remove the videos? It's not hard to threaten a lawsuit that, even if the manufacturer lost, Noss wouldn't want to spend the money to fight.
On the other hand if that were the reason you would think it would have happened sooner, so I guess that's not why the vids are gone. The other explanation would be that Noss pulled the vids for some reason.

Dang, I never ever got to see a Noss vid and they sound great. I find it funny how some guys get so fricken worked up over a guy doing "tests" like this. Criticizing his methods blah blah blah. It was what it was, entertainment with some over the top, unscientific testing. I honestly cannot understand why some people get so upset and take it so seriously. I suppose the reason that others have mentioned would be the answer;that their knife failed. If it did and you see how unscientific the test was then why get so bummed? Maybe because, despite being what it is, you are pissed your expensive knife bombed. Ultimately Noss did great by entertaining many, getting more into knives and upsetting some people who seem to take some things a bit too seriously.

I heard they were all removed after being proven to be fake, seems the companies were paying him to do the video's using fancy editing software.

The Busse's actually came out the worst, many breaking even as he tightened them up in the vice. The Chris Reeve knife came out tops. He was unable to break it by hand so tossed it in a car compactor then retrieved the broken knife and faked the video !!!

And if this was bizzaro world that would be the truth !!!:D

HA! it certainly would take Avatar level CG to make that Fat Fusion Battle Mistress snap.

I said it earlier maybe somewhere in this thread that I found Bussekin because of Noss and will miss those vids. I'm sure someone snagged them, though if He doesn't want them up for some reason, I can respect that.
