Nostalgia

long story short...

they WERE going to bring the 1 and 6 back

and made in Taiwan...

SOME people didn't like that idea. esp Ethan, made in america only dude!

awesome!

so, american made means many delays

it was determined that for various reasons, esp of complexity (size, angles), cost, and such, that neither will happen...

though we should see ANOTHER interesting thing ... soonish ... instead

what's soonish? when they feel like it :D

awesome sauce

Hi Bladite

This "interesting thing" you speak of ... can you give us a hint will it be on the larger end of the spectrum of the smaller end with regards to size. I am hoping for larger just to see if Bighoss changes his mind about the 9, lol

I believe Toooj as well as others have publicly commented on the return of the boomerang shaped item.

EDIT:

Here we are, December 28-29, 2012:

Since reading through these forums there has been a lot of talk about the BK-10, BK-6, BK-1 and other older Becker knives making a comeback.

Is there any possibility of a Reinhart Kukri design coming back? The kukri style blade has sort of made a resurgence and is quite popular.

EODM,

The Reinhardt Khuk is in the works. Right now we are waiting for the Reinhardt Estate to approve the design.

Jonc123,

The sheaths should be available separately. Call customer service and see if you can order one. If they are available, they should be fairly inexpensive.

Hope this helps.

Too bad.. I would love a bk1.. even if they had to charge more for it I would buy one

Well bud. I can still enjoy and appreciate my Beckers and get other brands as well. I do not want every Ka-Bar, ESEE or Becker that I see out there. But I sure do like the ones that I wanted and have. Machetes can be great fun also. I have to admit though that I put much lusting energy into a possible Patrol Machete.
;)

I haven't touched the old girl for about three years now, since its last sharpening were I thinned the edge out. I took the Brute out to a regional park and the warden and I did a fire and steaks. We have been doing this a lot this year. Initialy I just cleaved off a few chunks of wood for the shots. Then I realized that the fire was giving me a rough time because of the soaked wood. So I ended up hacking up about ten or more chunks that I split with my beater axe. Once a decent coal base was formed everything was cool...or warm.

Since Ka-Bar doesn't have the skill to make a new version you better put it in the safe. It is a collectors edition now.:D

Ok Warrior, I think it's time to grind...I'll keep you posted of the progress.

I hear and respect what you are saying, but I only keep users. Nothing snobby or elitist, it's just were my interest lies.

Perhaps, but I never read that anywhere. I was told via email it was for political reasons. They never indulged why, but believe me when I say it was a very reliable source.

Heck, it would be a lot easier to do it my way, haha: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1035545-BK1-Brute-My-Take?p=11816466#post11816466

Political reason is still a reason? The real Camillus is long dead and Ka-Bar gets the rights from Mr. Becker to make his knives designs. What is sad is they do not make the old green Camillus Becker Micarta handles as they were the best and dirt cheap.
