Caveat venditor is Latin for "let the seller beware".

What we have here is just another bubble market. An Infi bubble. It may last forever, it may not.

We all play games like musical chairs and hot potato when we're kids. Like many things in our culture it's up to you to figure out it was fair warning.

Yes but I'm not the one complaining about my prices... I'm not complaining at all about anything. I had two knives, I only wanted to keep one. If I put the knife up and it doesn't sell then so be it thats just the way it is and I'm fine with that. If I really need money fast then yeah I will put something on there at a price I KNOW will sell quickly. I still don't see anything wrong with trying to cover your ass on a sale. If you don't care for the mark up on Busse knives then try your hand at jewelry or designer sunglasses.

The interesting thing about posting anything is the reaction to the post. I have often had what I thought was a great idea. Thought about it turned it over in my head many times and only realized how stupid the idea was once I voiced it outloud to someone else. Posting any idea or feelings are the same. Other people see things in ways you do not so you can make any post a learning experience. As far as the value of things is concerned anything is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. If you purchase a knife for $300 today and can sell it tomorrow for $400 then it is worth $400 but only that day maybe a day later you can only get $200 for it and that is what it is worth but only that day.

Personally, I know the name Grimspoon commands a lot of respect around here, so if I've owned a knife for a month, a year, whatever...I believe I can attach a premium to that knife. That knife has been owned by Grimspoon, so of course it's going to fetch at least an additional $100.00+ on top of it's base value. I think we can all agree that a knife owned by Grimspoon is worth a heck of a lot more than that!

The secondary market is simply a place for me to give the people what they want. No, not just simply knives, but knives that have been owned by Grimspoon.

It's true ...trust me....Grimspoon, I would have paid an extra $100.00 for the ASH1 you sold me!!!:thumbup::thumbup::D

yessss I love it !!!!

Thats how I feel about "Uncle_Jarvis" blades...

After I beat them I command a premium price because my sweaty palm touched the handles...

also .. .I know whats hot and what not :cool::cool:

Dave...your blades are worth more due to the fact they've been belt sanded by HOT chicks in bikini's!!!!:thumbup::eek:

Sorry, I quoted you because that was where my thought train was coming from, not because I have a gripe with you or your business. My bad. I went back and deleted the quote from my post.

There's a second component to value: what one is willing to sell it for. If I am willing to sell it for $400, but no one is willing to buy it for more than $300, it's still worth $400 -- to me.

The HOG motto is NO REGRETS for a reason.

This applies to both buying and selling. :)

I say, "Less drama, more INFI" and later tonight I will follow the Boss Hog's advice "LETS DRINK":D:D

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I'm in 100% agreement ! :thumbup::)

I forgot to mention. Every knife I have on the XC was not only owned by Grimspoon at one time, it was owned FIVE TIMES by Grimmy. So pony up an extra $500 for my knives! Heck, I'll let em go for an extra $250. HALF OFF!

Chris, I somewhat get where your coming from. Though they are always reasons we may have to sell, after thinking we never will.

I think the main point most are missing is... OTE's is saying he is tired of the whining also, thats the only reason he made the thread.

Although, his advise would cause people to whine about the exchange less, it is just impossible to think you will keep a knife forever. Never know what lies around the corner.

I still don't get it???whats the true point being made here?
If someone is willing to pay an asking price, then both parties win.
If it's too much for you to afford....well get a second job!
Obviously,if a guy pays 425$ for a blade then it was worth it to HIM.
You may think the price was rediculous but the buyer didn't.
But today and today only I will buy all of your knives.....
FOR A DOLLAR!!!!!:D

Actually, it's worth $0.00 until someone expresses an interest in purchasing it.

Your knife is not legal tender, nor is it an equity. Perhaps you worked for Lehman befroe the collapse? ;)

I think his true point is... that he is tired of hearing people whine about the exchange price's. As am I. Thats all... he's not talking about price or anything some have mentioned... just tired of all the whining of late about exchange price's falling.

I don't agree with every thing he say's as all buyer's are differant and we will never all have the same buying/selling methods.
But I do for the most part since he's mainly say'ing, Stop all the whining just because you can't make money or break even on a knife. I agree with that, and am kinda tired of it myself.

I love Busse's more than any other knife.. I hate selling any busse... they are like.... family... when I do sell, I want them to go to a good home, where they will be loved and used well.. All other knives are inferior and don't have this intrinsic value... Busse Rules! Buy as much as you can.. use them as much as possible.. convert others to the Way of the INFI...

Amen!
