I ordered my new boots last week. I was all excited about getting my new Asolos so I could go hiking again. I called them today to check on my order. I was told that thee was a discrepancy with the billing address and that my order was on hold. My mistake. Then I was told that they had sent me two emails concerning the hold on my order over the last week. I did not receive these emails. I confirmed my email address to be sure the emails had been directed correctly. I was told they had the correct address. That's kind of strange, since I received two flyers from Sierra during the same amount of time. I was told that the problem must have been on my end and that my email server must have magically denied emails only from Sierra Trading Company and only on the specific days on which these notices of the hold on my order had been sent.

If I had received notification I could have used one of the 30% off flyers I got this week. Instead, the boots I ordered last week won't even ship out until next Monday because their warehouse is closed on Saturdays. I had to add an extra $10 for expedited shipping just so I could be sure it wouldn't take more than 2 weeks to get my goodies. My time is very valuable to me. I have an erratic schedule and I have to take advantage of the opportunities to be outdoors when they present themselves to me. Because of this I will have to burn an entire week that I could have been hiking and having fun. I generally have had better service from random people on Ebay that don't even have a company's reputation to uphold.

I've had stuff like this happen. My spam folder catches stuff some times and I miss information. It can be from the same site but something in their address is slightly different than emails I have responded to in the past and it gets routed to spam.

Not saying they didn't screw up but it wouldn't be too smart if they made a practice of that.

Bummer on the emails.

If you're talking about Sierra Trading Post, I've had excellent customer service with them over the years. Like a number of top-notch outdoor companies, they guarantee every product they sell 100%.

You might call back, ask for a manager, explain what happened, and see if they'll retroactively apply the 30% coupon. Be nice. Remember that you catch more flies with honey.

I have ordered at least a half dozen times from Sierra over the years and never had any problems, including with a return one time. I would not hesitate to order from them but agree that their shipping is sometimes a little slower than most internet retailers. The very good deals more than make up for the extra day or two of delay.

Check your spam folder for the emails. Mine traps many regular emailers even when I mark them as "no spam".

I checked the spam folder before I posted.

Sierra trading post has been 100% excellant to deal with for me.

Sometimes these things happen. Ive ordered from them several times (maybe a hundred) and never an issue. Did you make a mistake on your shipping address? If so, then that explains the hold, as far as the emails, sometimes emails get lost. It happens.

I hope you get your boots on time, and you give them another shot in the future. I think its a fluke on their end. They are a great company with great prices.

they are awsome... they ship shoes with a return label to just slap on the box and leave for the mailman incase they dont fit!!!

Sorry to hear this happened. My experiences with them have always been great. Heck, Sierra Trading Post and Sportsman's Guide have almost exclusively clothed and outfitted me for nearly twenty years. :D

I spoke with Sierra Trading Post again today. Despite what I was told last week, they said they were able to get my order out on Friday, so it should be here tomorrow. Even though we had confirmed my email address last week, we were able to find an error in it today. I was also allowed to use one of the better 30% off coupons rather than my original 20% off coupon. The lady on the phone was very helpful and apologetic this time. AFAIC Sierra Trading Post has made this right with me, pending the arrival of my gear tomorrow. :)
