It looks like you made up your mind, and it is hard to be disappointed with the Blur. I was not sold on the blade shape when I had one, but it is a very nice knife, and I especially liked it de-assisted. I think overall Kershaws are excellent and great bang for your buck. Occasionally you will get a dud, which it sounds like is what happened with the Emerson/Kershaw model you bought. Just to give you an idea, these are the Kershaws I bought over the last few years (in no particular order)-
Skyline- Excellent
Blur- Great quality, didn't like the blade shape, very good de-assisted
Freefall- Excellent
Shuffle- Very nice and usable for its size
Link- Both the plastic and aluminum handles are pretty nice, neither of the knives I had had any detent when de-assisted, which was a big bummer, aluminum handle slippery
Oso Sweet- Great everyday user
Volt ii- Seemed very nice, but didn't actually use much
Swerve- Surprisingly good
Leek- Solid small knife
Cryo- Seemed solid, but didn't use much
Dunbar- Absolute junk
Own It 4 pack- Heavy junk
As you can see most Kershaws I think are great budget blades!
