What makes these two a pair? Is it the same sheath? No, they were both donated as prizes to The Early Skills of the Californio Rancho or The Skills for short:

This show has recently become very popular. Signups were at 0800 on 7/18. I told Nichole, (Mrs Horsewright), to be ready prior to 0800 and to press the button at 0800 on the ole computer and she did. She got in. Had two friends and one hit enter at 0803 and the other at 0805 and neither of them made it. Both are on a waiting list. Nichole did very well last year winning the Intermediate level of the Stockhorse competition:

She also won the top hand award:

So not only do we have a pair of knives here but a pair of buckles too! Nichole's got to up her game this year as she now competes at the Advanced level.
