I really shouldn't hesitate to use any of my knives because mine don't get hard use. Most of the GEC's that I use I bought as users but I do use my 73 stag and several others that beg to be seen. As far as the Lloyds are concerned I've used the LC but not the stag.
The way I see it is we have multiple knives and carry more than one so that the nicer ones end up as jewelry. It's just like autos. If you own one it's a daily driver. But add in a convertible sports car and it only gets driven on special occasions.
