The pen on the lower one was shy and resisted being pulled out for a picture (remedied later off camera).

Those are great looking old knives fore sure! Like the bottom one,the black in the jigging looks neat.I love my challenge I picked up, but I do wish its bolsters would have been as nice as yours, but for some reason they're quite pitted plus about 3/16ths on the spine of the awl.Miller Brothers jacks (1872-1926).

That Bluegill is BEAUTIFUL ShawnThis has been an extremely notable pair for me the past ~6-8 months or so. I think the only knife that has been carried more frequently along side my green Peanut is my SAK Executive. I never pictured myself carrying a fixed blade, but this little JK Knives Bluegill is just brilliant.

The mammoth that gave those tusks thousands of years ago would even be proud of those knives!Mammoth Zulu.

GREAT bunch of pairs. Just curious why you like the '13 trapper better than the '17 trapper?I’m fairly new to the forum and to traditionals, and over the past few months I’ve spent way too much of my savings and personal time on this hobby! I’ve even picked up a few knives from some of the nice folks here at BF, and I've learned a ton from y'all as well!
Here are a few of my favorites...

1978 6235 and 1981 5235, both great EDCs

1920-1940 Case 6393 (my Grandfather's) and 1978 Case 6332 (one of my favorites). The difference in length is proportional to the difference in height between my Grandfather and me! The 6332 is 92% of the 6393 in length. My grandfather was 6'3" and I'm 5'9" -- 92% (in inches).

One more shot of the 6332 and 6393

2013 and 2017 GEC Trappers (I like the 2013 more)

2015 GEC #38’s. Love both of these!
Those all sound like good reasons to me. Thanks.A couple of reasons. First, I like the color better on the 2013. It’s a little richer and is more even all the way to the bolsters. Just a personal preference.
Second, it has a stronger pull and is quite a bit snappier, which I really like. The 2017 is pretty soft. If it didn’t have half stops I would be worried about using it because those long slender blades could close on me.
I really love the wharnies in both knives though, and the ‘17 finds pocket time (though not much actual use).
