YAY!!! :) Charlie posted this Christmas gift to me AGES before Christmas, but unfortunately it fell into the clutches of the evil UK courier enterprise 'ParcelFarce'! At long last, it arrived today, and what a knife it is! I love the hefty, solid feel of the knife in hand, and it absolutely excels quality, beautifully made in every way - absolutely gorgeous in fact! :) Well done Charlie, this is another home-run my friend, and many thanks for the very generous gift :) Ooh! It does have a good feel! Love it Charlie

Wonderful Jack there Jack:) I (Duncan more so) feels your pain with customs:eek: I mailed his package with assorted knives and old catalog ads that he had sent here. I shipped 12/2/19. Following customs tracking is hit and miss as most of the time it falls off the radar once it leaves Chicago. Well as customs would have it, the next notice I rec'd after Chicago was the UK:eek: The UK on 12/18/19!!! In all the years I've shipped to Duncan in New Zealand, never once did it pass through the UK or should have!? Well it stayed in limbo in the UK until the next notice popped up showing package arrived at Customs in Auckland on 12/26/19. Now just waiting for it to make it to Duncan's address:rolleyes:

Well Jack, what a beauty ya got there, they do say "good things come to those who wait":) Enjoy that BEAUTIFUL Black Jack, Jack:D

I’m relatively new to GEC knives, and I want to say I think this is really cool the SFOs and the community with Charlie on here discussing his creation with everyone!

I’m curious because I don’t know, but how do you conduct the SFO process? Do you decide on materials and design with the current pattern? What about the etch and tube design? What are your inspirations for your models and what drives those? Thanks for a response!!

Zac

I really don't know if I can carry this thing! It's just to darn nice!

*Edit- I decided to flush the joints and oil it up good for the maiden voyage in my right front pocket tomorrow. A pair of jumbo jacks in the front pocket...not gonna be much room for anything else!

Will have to wait a bit longer. After USPS processed it in Minneapolis, 20 miles from my house, they then sent it to Fargo for the day, and now are routing it back to Minneapolis. Fun day trip for my knife, one more day of waiting for me... o_O

I got one! After loving my Oilfield Jack I couldn't pass up this gorgeous SFO on the 86 frame.

Really digging the all steel, nickel silver and ebony construction.

Great choices on the details of this one, Charlie!
