Notice: We're probably moving. Expect some downtime.

I'm not sure if you've already made your decision on who your new host will be, but I've hosted dozens of site with asmallorange.com and have had nothing but the best experience. They are cheap and very reliable. Their tech support is also the best in the business with super fast email times. I don't work for them and this is not spam, just the honest opinion of a long time user.

Oh, I'm sure. And don't forget the dancing girls. Were you interested in applying for that job?

Some members already think we ae making too much as it is.

It's the carp per diem that adds up.

And the cookies.

This doesn't happen often but downtime is routine with any kind of machinery. We sometimes had to take the boilers off line during the day. The staff in other departments managed to do fine using less hot water, and keeping the windows closed until we could get the steam back up.

I hope you don't take them down for 40 hours at a time.

Thanks Spark, a lot of us pay for this site as well so its nice to know were moving to a more stable solution. :)

Me too, BUT; if it takes that long or longer... that's just the way it goes. ;)

I feel sure they will do it as quickly as they can.

Sorry, should have quoted. I was commenting on Bufford's post. I hope that when he takes the steam down he doesn't do so for 40 hours.

Nothing to be sorry for.... :)
I did not mean to sound like a smart a$$, if it came across that way. :)

Thanks for the info =)

Really bad for a dedicated server to go down like that. Hope you find something better for cheaper =)

We sure don't want to take them down that long, but it's not uncommon to take them down for a few hours. Being a healthcare institution steam is an essential service/product, without it the place couldn't function.

But for BF, this place is not an essential service, if it goes down, perhaps some (if not many) folks around here will go out and see daylight they havn't seen since the last blackout here.

Don't forget about the sunblock and sunglasses.

Hmm seems like nucear winter and cyber life have a couple of things in common; like the rebirth and rediscovery of the open sky:yawn:

Servers are being provisioned as we speak. We'll start migrating within the next few days
